Default Local Type R theft attempt. 3 kids in jail.

my local subaru dealership got a 01 PY integra type R in its used car lot recently so me and a friend decided to stop by and look at it considering its one of my dream cars, its about 12:30 at night when we drive by and park, as were walking over to the car we see 2 kids ducking behind a truck and were like ok wtf, then we hear "Get on the ground or im going to taze you!" so we stop dead in our tracks. a cop runs by and tackles a kid right in front of the R, and the other kids bolt the other way, so we just stand there cuz i really dont want a dog on my *** or a cop chasing me. so the cop ask's us which way the other kids went and what they were wearing, so we told them. about 10 minutes later a cop car pulls up with the other kid and we identify him. so after all of this we go look at the type R, they had half the interior already ripped out when the cop came up, and of course they were driving a white civic. it was a pretty exciting night to say the least. i wish i had money to go get the type r and give it a safe home. well i just thought i would let you type R owners know that 1 R is safe for tonight. im really glad to kids got caught and are off the street for now

Cliff notes: walked up to 3 kids trying to steal a type R, all of them got arrested

sorry this is so long haha.

Sounds like a pretty crazy story.

I am suprised did not accuse you of being part of the theft due to you guys being there at that time.

thats the main reason we just stood there, i didnt want the cops to think we were stealing **** either. im glad they got caught, its funny because the kid was yelling at me and my freind and another kid who saw it, he kept saying dont you have something better to do? and **** like that. little hard ***.

just posted in kills section, thought they might like it to.

How old were they? I hope over 18, that way this can stick with them for a while.

Would have been MUCH better if they had at LEAST gotten shocked the crap out of them with the tazer.

the kid that got caught at first claimed he was 20 but he really looked 17 maybe 18. the cop that said he was gonna taze him didnt even have a tazer haha, but when he said that the kid stopped running haha.

Ok well he should have at least whacked him with the night stick...hard. I would have covered for the cop saying he was more than justified.

what stupid sales manager would leave a car like this in a "used car lot"? i know it was in a subaru dealership, but that kind of stupidity begets what you just witnessed. i worked in a dealership before, and not all cars can fit in the showroom, but there should be certain areas that are secure, or atleast protected from the average thief.

i have no sympathy for the dealership and especially the thieves...except for that poor R.

my advice is why not try and see if you can get the car yourself since its your "dream car"? if you're employed, you might just be surprised. maybe this incident will motivate them to just dump it asap.

the dealership i work at usually sells nicer used cars to other dealerships of the same make... kinda odd how they would that car just sitting in there, managers probably knew nothing about the theft rating on the car

That's pretty crazy. Glad those punks got caught.

OT: How much are they asking for the ITR?

The same kind of dealership that may take $8000 for the car even if it still has a clean title after all this. Haggle with them and tell them not to waste any labor in getting the interior back together. You'll handle that. That should be good for $2000 off their asking price, and then after that, just negotiate it down.

Care to share what dealership this would be and/or a phone number?
