looking for a QUIET exhaust for my CRX
Ok i'm new to the whole honda scene as I just bought my first one a 1991 CRX Si with a B16A in it and it has a Greddy exhaust that is WAYYYY too loud. I hate the whole loud exhaust thing as i've been there and done that with all my VW's so i'm looking for an exhaust that has a nice quiet tone but still makes good power. i'm open to suggestions so lets see whats out there
do it custom. kteller.com has great options for you. get a long resonator and an oval type muffler, and youll have a pretty quiet exhaust. and remember bigger piping isnt always better and will make you exhaust louder as well
yes i agree that custom is the way to go with exhaust...but if u want a good system the rs-r ex mag is awesome...has a great tone...very quiet....i also like the thermal r&d system...they both get a

I'll vouch for that. I couldn't even hear him flooring it over the phone.

I have the 2.5" piping and dynomax ultraflow without a resonator. It's not as loud as a lot of cars I've heard, and has a good tone, but I want it silent, so I'm probably going to put a resonator in there. Cruising is completely silent, none of the droning that alot of people have. When you lay in the throttle it's just a nice tone, again nothing harsh. I just want less volume. Oh, and the price is right.

Also not trying to jack. . . but did you have to get any special adapters for the 2.5 to bolt up to your header? or does the kit come with it?

If I remember right (I forget some of the most useful stuff...) the kit came with a flange, but it was a 3 bolt, where at my cat was a 2 bolt. There's enough piping to eliminate the cat entirely and go directly to the header, which is what I will do when my AN-R arrives. I think either way, you'll need to stop at a Midas or something and pick up a flange or two, they are around $5 per. Remember to keep at least one joint flexible, ie. a ball gasket with spring bolts or a flex pipe. Learn from the master: Honda.
i've got a flowmaster exhaust on my 89 hf. sounds good, not loud at all, and its a flowmaster. cost me 189 bucks, but its what you're looking for, trust me
