Default Hondata S300 vs Neptune and why

I am in the market for engine management software for an all motor H22a. Nothing serious done to the motor just the following

H22a4 block and head

Type S pistons
Type S cams
STR adjustable cam gears
Type S valve springs
Skunk2 titanium retainers
Supertech flat bottom valves
ferrea bronze valve guides
Probe Ultra light connecting rods
ACT street light flywheel
Action 2KS kevlar clutch
95 JDM H22a LSD tranny

OBD1 H22a distributor
NGK wires
NGK irridium plugs
OBD1 H22a injectors
AEM fuel rail and FPR
OBD1 ECU (p13, P0f, or possibly P72)

1995 Accord Coupe

with the pistons and valves I am going to have 11.3 - 11.5 to 1 compression

I was looking at hondata s300 ($500-$600) plus tuning. I've been reading about neptune and there is a tuner about 4 hours away from me. Please advise on what you recommend and why. From what I read neptune can be had for around $600 installed and dynoed but you can't tune it yourself.

Thanks in advance.

I also got neptuned, price is similar to hondata but includes tuning so. All you need for Neptune is a socketed OBD-1 ECU. So that makes it nice. Also neptune is an extremely featured software, they can mess with damn near everything you'd want to be messed with. Problem is it has one major downfall, only tuner can tune it, licensed software.

Neptune runs my Prelude much more smoothly and reliably than any other tuning solution I've used.
The key is that Neptune has full adjustment of all enrichments so the car isn't running too rich with the ecu giving tip-in and cold start enrichment based on 'teg injectors.
Finally, there is a new version of Neptune coming in the next few months, and you will be able to self-tune if you want. There is going to be an upgrade path for existing customers, too.

Hondata S300 is $5-600 + your OBD1 P28/30/72
Either way you need a OBD1 Civic/Teg ecu.
At the moment, nothing works with a p13.

what do you mean based on integra injectors? I'll be using obd1 prelude injectors.

I realize you are using prelude injectors.

But without the ability to adjust all the fuel enrichments, the ECU THINKS you're using teg injectors.

Also, the only places to get Neptune from are selected based on their skill as tuners. Anyone can be a Hondata dealer, only exellent tuners get Neptune.

http://www.hrtuning.com/
hasn't anyone seen this yet??? neptune should be available soon where you can tune it yourself
plus it looks like it has some pretty interesting features like bluetooth and supports both windows and mac osx.

I suggest asking the same question on other forums such as PGMFI.ORG and would recommend hearing opinions from a wider variety of people. There are plenty of other choices as well as the S300 and Neptune.

Dave is one of the few authorized Neptune tuners also, going either way Hondata or Neptune you will be happy.

both of the systems are basically the same thing. they are extremely similar and will run your car equally well. find a tuner that you are comfortable with and ask them what they feel they can tune better, and go with that.

hondata s300, i use it on my h22 hatch. with ITB's runs awesome, and im sure sooner or later you will do some upgrades that you might not get the options that you can with hondata. good luck and nice setup.
