bro, it really doesn't matter, i've spent hundreds on different intakes over the years and honestly have found very little difference between any of them. for something like a short ram intake, just go with a cheap one and grab a decent filter to throw on it.

Like I've stated in other threads. There is no 'better' intake, all it is an aluminum arm and an air filter. Buy an intake arm and a K&N filter and you're set.

I'm sorry, I don't live in Cali.. How can an intake not be legal? It sucks in air, excuse my ignorance but I'm not familiar with Cali's smog laws.

i second that, What can sucking colder air really do to affect emissions and your smog level? I have grandparents and cousins that live in the bay area (San Jose/San Carlos) and they throw on whatever parts they want. lol they haven't gotten a ticket.....YET. lol

But honestly, it doesn't matter what kind of short ram you're going to get. youre pretty much paying for the fancy name.

If your worried about CARB, then find a way to jam yoru SRI into your stock intake arm and just plop the box on it come inspection time.

if you're gonna do that, might as well make a diy icebox. it's pretty much stock, so no one would question it anyway.

CAI, snorkel, or nothing! Short Ram Intake(Hot air intake), gains power on dyno with hood open and fan blowing. Sucks hot air in from engine bay in real-life driving and loses you HP.

Must have CARB sticker to SMOG in Cali...like it or not!

i dont live in cali either but ive known ppl in flordia that have had to pop their hood because the cop heard the whistle of the intake and thought the guy had a open nitrous bottle running and his car got impounded. but in cali i believe they do random check if the cops have suspision and when you go get emission tested they check for carb legality

i beg to differ on that statment. any thing that increase the motors ability to suck in more are and keep a good air velocity is going to gain power

Not if the air is hot! Hot air = less dense air = less combustion!

I guess that would depend on the body style but if true, that sure would be of little help in auto-x...
