Default What is a equalizer Q factor of .25?

just like the topic... I was thinking it is 4 octaves...

since 1.0 is 1 octave, and 2.0 is .5 octaves... would my thinking be correct in that

.50 is 2 octaves and .25 is 4 octaves?

Thank you

EDIT, and would this mean.. that if I centered 100hz and used .25 Q... that it would affect between 25hz and 400? since it would be like this for the octaves... 25, 50, 100, 200, 400? I might have that confused.. but I think I am correct.
