Fast Street Cars..........
So after driving all the way to St. Louis....having the same problem that ive had all year happen again...fixing it....then having an electrical problem stop my car from starting....and then driving all the way home i make it back to MD.
after about 5 min. of being home i found out that 3 of my freinds/customers were all just killed in a terrible car accident. nobody is sure yet if these guys were racing, or just going fast as hell. these guys were my age (23). one of the guys had an older body style supra, and just got a new job and was in the process of selling it to get a new body style supra...looks like that will never happen. thats been his dream car for as long as i can remember..and he finally had the chance to get it, and now this happens.
no real purpose to my post i guess.......other than there is a lot of bragging and crap that takes place on the street...and a lot of people do stupid things to show off or whatever you want to call it. take that **** to the track.
all of these guys hang out in a group of probably about 50 people who are all about street racing. if nothing else i hope this incident shows them the reality behind it. i try my damn hardest to get all of these guys out to the track but they all either say its too expesive, or that their car isnt fast enough to compete. i really hope this changes things.

Joe...
I am sorry to hear about your loss. My prayers are with your friends and their family.
To street racing
I am also guilty of street racing, but have not competed in one in over three years. I am a true believer of taking it to the track. Unfortunately street racing will always be around, hopefully people realize how dangerous it is and grow out of it.

Like all of you, I started off on the street as well...I couldn't resist the rush. Then I went to the track one day, and to my surprise, I got the same rush...except I was safe and I couldn't get in any trouble. I've never been back to the street races since.
I'm very sorry to hear about your friends. Unfortunetly it takes tragedy to make people realize how stupid they are. God bless!

I agree 100% same thing happened to me. Now its just the track, don't get me wrong, i like to hammer on the street, but not higher than my trap speed and definitely not for long periods of time

Joe,
Sorry to hear about your loss. I am in the same boat as all of my fellow posters on here, I too street raced when I was younger. But as I started to get more and more money involved with it, it was not worth it anymore. Misdemenors just for watching here in California. But the biggest thing that pulled me off the track was the birth of my daughter. Could not see imagine her growing up without me in her life, becasue I had to go street racing.
Becasue you know as well as I do, it may not be something that I do, could be someone puling out in front of me as I am racing. Every cloud has a silver lining, and you can only hope that there will be people that will red this and decide not to go out and do it. Nobody said you car had to go x.xx speed to be able to go to the track!

so i just got word....it was not 3 people it was 5. the kid driving i knew better than the other people that were involved. this kid just got a new lancer evo and had some mods done to it. the car was his pride and joy. he called me last week asking me about putting a clutch in his car.....
they were going between 130-140 mph and got a flat tire. lost controll and the car shot into an oak tree. looking at the pictures you can't tell at all what so ever what kind of car it was.
this sucks
