CEL code 17?!?
so i threw a code 17 today while finally taking my car out for it's first drive ever. before when i would drive it, it would just to move it's parking so wouldn't be on for longer than 30 seconds. this is what i could find on code 17.
17- Accord Civic CRV CRX Del Sol Odyssey Prelude
88-98 88-98 97-98 88-91 93-97 95-97 88-98
VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor)
defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
is this a serious code? will this make my car run in safe mode??
this car keeps throwing codes after codes.. i fix one then another comes up ahhhh i hate this. just fixed a code 23.. what next.

make sure your speedo cable is plugged ALL the way into the top of your tranny. you will find the hole for the cable sort of directly below the throttle body. code 17 isn't a big deal as far as the safety of your motor but as mentioned b4 vtec will not work, nor will your speedo. if you have it properly secured into that hole in the trans and it still doesn't work, check the connection in the back of the cluster.

ok so i looked into my engine bay and noticed the cable is put into the tranny, but!! there is no clip holding it into place!! so i basically need to get that clip from honda so the cable will stay in there.. now what my main question is.. does someone have a picture of how the cable should look when plugged into the tranny??
i tried putting the cable in there as far as it would go, but it didn't seem to go in very far.. there isn't a whole lot of extra slack.. so a pic of how it looks clipped into the tranny would help a lot!!!
thanks
