should i turbo or ls/vtec
im planning to buy an integra with a over 100,000 miles from a friend for cheap...should i go ls,vtec or turbo since it is already over 100,000 miles...what is the best type of situation i should do and how much would it cost me for ls/vtec conversion and how much would it cost me to do turbo and would it kill my engine since it already over 100,000 miles thanx
I might get flamed for this but I personally think that LS vtec is overated. I have ran plenty of them in my stock gsr and won. If you have the money go TURBO. You can do a basic bolt on kit and safely produce 230 whp maybe more or if you really have some money sleeve the block and you can really have some fun. You would have to upgrade your FM but it'll be worth it. Front mounts look so sick on integras too.

not only 230 whp, but also boat loads more torque than a basic LSVtec would get.

it is a 96 and im not looking to go racing or anything jus want a little more boost then average and what turbo is a decent one for daily driving..also with the engine being over 100,000 would turbo still make my car run smooth?sorry this is my first integra and i dont know much so yes u can call me a noob but it ok im willing to learn...thanks
If the compression tests out ok, and all other basic engine health maintanence has been followed, then I dont see why you can't turbo your teg. I had a friend who turboed his teg with 109,000 miles, and his **** ran like a bat outta hell. You would have though the car was new it was so smooth, that is until it got stolen.

if your worried about the mileage, you could do as i did. Get your motor rebuilt with high compression pistons, new rods, bearings ARP head studs, and go LS/Vtec. Put down a good amount of power.. spank GSRs and type Rs, have a fresh engine, and not have to worry about any reliability..
Only regret i have, is how much more power i coulda made with a turbo
But i wouldnt be as comfortable with the turbo.

between turbo and ls-vtec
go turbo and boost safely, you wont regret it and after running that setup for awhile you can build your bottom end to handle more boost which then you can slap on a vtec head.

stock GSR vs. LS/VTEC.... hmmm.... and you said you won...... okay?!?!!
anyways... whatever you do, you should prepare your car... i don't believe in slapping in a turbo with a car that had over 100k on it. i guess you can but i care more about reliablitly....

I've seen over 500hp on an all ls-turbo motor. I think you should do TONS of research before you do anything. You don't seem to know too much about what you are doing, and that is how things blow up. Boost is better for the money though. And you can make 300 safely on a stock motor ls.
