FS: N/A 93 Prelude VTEC. R&D Dyno Built H22A1
Hi everyone interested.
I am selling my 1993 Honda Prelude VTEC with an H22A1. I have spent probably 10K working on this car, primarily the engine. The body of the car needs work but I am basically going to sell the Engine, Transmission, ECU, and axles as a whole setup and give the car with it. I have all receipts for the work on the car, especially the engine work. The engine has only been out of the shop and running awesome for a few months. I have only hit VTEC 3 times since all of the engine work. Never hit the track... although if it does.. I'm dying to know the 1/4mile time. It's a beast. Here is the list of the mods:
Complete rebuild of bottom end:
Balanced Crank
New Bearings across
New Honda Oil Pump
New Water Pump
Eagle H-Beam Rods
ARP Bolts
Wiseco Coated High Compression 11.5:1 Pistons
Wiseoco Rings
Darton M.I.D. Sleeve kit (checkout their website on these things) (CNC machined block for proper install)
Crower Head Gasket
Bored out to 89mm
Honed and Decked Block
Clutch:
ACT Flywheel
ACT Throwout bearing
Act Street/Race Single Plate 6 Spring Clutch (also have a 6-puck brand new if you want to install)
ACT Xtreme High Pressure Plate
Top End:
Complete Head Job:
5 angle valve job
New Valves across
New Intake and Exhaust Valve Guides
H22a Springs
Crower Titanium Retainers
Stock Cams (was going to change them in the near future)
ALSO INCLUDED:
JDM 1 piece Black headlight housings.
DC sports Ceramic headers with Welded on VIBRANT Carb Legal High Flow Cat.
Greddy Evo II Stainless Steel Cat Back Exhaust (real deep)
Injen Race Division Cold Air Intake
Custom Painted Silver Interior center console.
Clear Black Rear Lamps. With two red lenses for each side.
Unpainted (white) Black Widow II Complete Body Kit.
Throw me some offers. I am selling this project car in search of buying a new ride. I'm looking for $6,500 but throw me offers. Receipts alone show atleast that much $$$ went into the engine and the engine bolt ons. I have the title and it is clean. Email me at Courtemanche_Designs@hotmail.com if interested. Thanks everyone.

hit vtec 3 times, in 3 months? right there this deal sounds fishy, you dont have a motor built by a shop, get the car back, and only hit vtec 3 times...and then sell it? you either 1) hit vtec 3 times, was dissapointed and now trying to get rid of it , or 2) hit "vtec" plenty of times and stated only 3 times to make it seem more flawless than it really is.....these are just hunches, if im wrong im sorry, but it just doesnt add up.
sadly.. you are wrong across the board. I did the proper break-in of the motor as recommended. I was told to not rev over 4-5K rpm until i had hit atleast 750 miles. (The oil was also changed FOUR times during that cycle) I was also told to not keep the engine at a steady rmp for an extended time.
Apparently.. revving the engine that high before a proper break-in could potentially lead to setting the pistons rings high. Any person who drops 10GRAND into a car, primarily engine, is not going to beat the **** out of it the day he gets it. ESPECIALLY, when he is told not to by the shop who built it.
Also, for your other theory, which doesnt even make sense due to the larger displacement of the engine and higher compression, I am not nearly "disappointed" with the performance or power of the car.
For anyone who is a potential buyer, I am positive they would take a test drive to see first hand that there is no possible "disappointment" in a now approx. 2.4 Liter High compression VTEC engine. (up from the 2.2liter, 10.1:1 compression stock engine) (also, helping with power the lightweight rods and pistons)
Not to mention... I live in wonderful Los Angeles.. home of TRAFFIC. opening this car up on some side street without getting pulled over isn't the easiest thing to do.
Thanks for your input though.
