ACL Bearings
I know that ACL bearings are like oem green bearings. My main and rod bearings are mostly yellow and pink with one green on the rod. Can I still use the ACL bearings in my all motor build? From what I read the yellow and pink are a smaller diameter.
ACL make copper bearings for high performance engines. Made for a guy that used to run at Bathurts in Australia.

if setup properly no bearing should really ever wear out. The way the bearings actually work is by holding a very thin oil film which is what the crank rides on. there is never (should never) be any metal to metal contact which is why tolerances can be to loose (meaning the oil falls out the sides) as well as being to tight (oil gets pressed out)

Coated ACL Bearings are what you need. They should be very close to the same as green after coating. I would recomend line boring to insure proper alignment. Also when checking for proper clearance, do not rely on plasti-gage. This is okay if you are only making sure you have clearance. Find a reliable engine machine shop if you are unsure of how to properly measure. ACL has the only true "H" series race bearings. Depending on your application, and how hard you hammer your engine, bearing failures are due mainly to inproper clearances.
