Default B16 Water Pump??

I have a JDM b16 SIR II in my eg. I would like to upgrade my water pump. I was thinking either ITR or GSR. Anyone know which would be the best, or would it be the same as stock b16???? and what else i would need to do if anything to make one of those water pumps fit?? thanks

This has been covered many times before, but I can do a repeat : ALL B-series VTEC water pumps are the same.

I'm pretty sure the amount of teeth on a b18c1 or c5 is different because of the length of the timing belt. So if you get a gsr pump you would have to use a gsr timing belt. Someone else can chime in.

b16 is the same as b18c.

as per b-series, there only 2 different kinds; one for a vtec motor and the other for a non

are you sure? because on a lsvtec build you if you go with b18c water pump you would need a b18c timing belt. now if the thread starter went with the b18c pump the b16 timing belt wouldn't work. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT: after quick search on good old H-T found if you use 22t pump you need any vtec timing belt.

lsvtec uses an ls belt or a gsr belt depending on which water pump you use

ls pump = ls belt
b16/itr/gsr pump = gsr/itr belt

b16/itr/gsr pumps all have the same part number

b16 belt is for a block of a different height than ls or gsr/itr belt

there are early and late B16/B18c water pumps. same number of teeth but the late part number doesn't have alignment dowels for where it mounts to the block. they are interchangeable for all intents and purposes, however.

For the third time, my statement is that all VTEC pumps are the same, so if you use a B16, GSR or ITR pump it's the same piece. Yes I know the Non-VTEC pumps are different but that was not what you asked and I answered your question, maybe you need to actually read what people write next time around
