Another "here's my setup and times thread" 203whp 2300 lbs w/ driver
Well I ran my EF at the Honda-Tech nopi nationals this weekend. It was fun getting to learn how to drive. The setup is a 91 EF hatch 2300lbs with me in it, 203whp. Bone stock suspension, remington all season tires on fat fives. I started pretty damn shitty at midnight madness.
First time ever running the setup:
60'= 2.681 1/4= 14.961@98.66 missed 3rd
later that night got down to a 14.5.
Next day best at nopi during open session:
60' = 2.437 1/4= 14.127@101.35
So tell me how bad i suck.
No really though comments appreciated.

With that power/weight combo u should be running low13's high 12's practice is key. Also try using some slicks and maybe do some suspension work
get slicks or atleast some better tires on that thing to get ur 60's down and the times will drop the 101mph sounds good though
yeah. I am wondering if a lower 60 ft will also result in a slightly higher MPH. I know usually the best ET results in a slightly lower mph but the relationship between the two is tricky.
Man, I missed a ton of people at St. Louis this weekend. I really wished I would have known about the midnight madness thing. I would have shown up for that and had some fun
And about your setup. Get some slicks and suspension work. What were your 60 foot times?

hey add another 50lbs to it, and come to moroso on the 20-21 of august for the nhra event. you can run the street stock class, full interior full exhaust, street tires. if you get your 60' times in the 2.0-2.2 range, you'll be running high to mid 13's!

i made the same power with my ls/vtec with oem bottom end. get some traction bars. gutt the interior and get some slicks. dont get get 13x8 as it will dropp your mph get bigger slicks. i ran 12.9@104mph open diff in my da chassis. you can do
practice makes perfect

Wow, good time with the DA. What the hell is wrong with me.
Yeah i think i have quite a bit of power let in the motor. And a lot more potential in the quarter. I wanna try these M&H DOT race tires, like slick but street legal and damn near as good as slicks. I'm hoping i can get high high 12's evetually with only the 203whp. Then when i get up to 215-220whp i'll see if i can get in the 110mph range.

Well I ran again today at a test and tune. I didn't improve very much. I changed a few things. Added passenger seat (30 lbs), went with a full tank (last time it was about a 1/4 tank), switched front tire setup to 14" azenis on steelies.
Best tonight:
60' = 2.287
1/8 = 9.203
1/8 mph = 78.63
1/4 = 14.099
1/4 mph = 100.87
It seems like for my trap speed i am doing pretty decent. I would think 14.0 at 100mph is pretty decent. My issue is i think my MPH should be better, only 2300lbs with driver, fully tuned making 203whp, what gives?
I guess the stock suspension hurts me but really only on the launch anyways. Hmm input and assistance appreciated.

with a set of 13x8x22" slicks, you'll have no problem hitting 13.5! but if you get a little more practice, with the azenis you should hit 13.8-13.9! i use to run 13.1@103 with 14" azenis a while ago, i think i was running them between 14-16 psi! good luck! btw come to moroso on the 20-21 and run in the street stock class, you meet all the requirements!
But it seems to me that even if i can get 13's, i should be trapping a lot better. I make about the same power as an s2000, yet my car weighs about 900lbs less, yet i run the same mph as one. Its just kinda disappointing.
So i broke into the 13's tonight. My 60' times are still pretty lame, but i was pretty happy my mph went up a tad. This time the changes were, a Koyo alum. radiator (used to overheat) , reset my intake cam gear to +6 (like it was during dyno tune), and put some VX wheels and tires on the back (30lbs savings over fat fives).
Best:
R/T: I don't really worry about this becuase i focus on launching.
60': 2.322 (tire pressure 30psi)
330: 6.042
1/8: 9.093 @ 80.52
1/4: 13.900 @ 101.99mph
I was very happy to break 13's. I wanna get my traps into the 104-105 range eventually. It'll take some more power and some better weather.
