Simple clutch fork has me stumped
Ok, i'm a little confused. I have an S80 tranny and I just bought a new release fork and spring b/c It didnt' have one when i bought it, but now i'm stumped on this goes together with the release bearing.
1) Does the spring go under the head of the pivot bolt or does it just attach to the release fork which then just rests on the bolt? I think its suppose to go under the head but its tough to get it under there and then attached to the fork.
2) I have a brand new release bearing that came with my clutch, but how is it suppose to be mounted on the input shaft over the release fork. It doesn't seem to fit properly. It has 2 little tabs on it but the tabs don't fit around the fork, or are they just suppose to freely rest on top of the fork. This is the part that's really giving me problems. Seems like it should be so simple, but I'm a little baffled.
Thanks

Ok, figured out the clutch fork and spring problem, which turned out to be not a problem. The spring just pops right over the bolt (****). Still stumped on the bearing though.
Also, just out of curiosity, when you in stall your clutch do the fingers in the pressure plate sit level with the clutch disc or do they retain that concave shape that is has when not installed?

Part 2 of problem solved. The throwout bearing that came with my ACT kit is for a cable B series tranny. I need a hydro throwout bearing. Looks like its off to Acura (or Honda) tomorrow.
