your temp gauge might be broken, my motor was doing the same thing you described when i was still using the stock radator and it was running hot. thats why i went with the double size and relocated my radiator brackets, i didnt want to worry about it anymore.

i don't think its broken cuz when its cold the needle will let you know but once it warms up it goes to a certain point and stops, never drops and never rises and I've been through a few different clusters so i don't think its that unless i'm getting a faulty reading from the therm sensor.....
yea you should check the water temp sensor on the back of the block. i had the same motor and the same stock cx radiator youre running, it ran really hot and bogged at vtec crossover just like were describing
but i was registering on my cluster as running hot, so i dont know what to tell you.
