chip?what the ****..get that **** tuned or ityll all end up going too waste.

seriously how do you get a fully built motor like that and then run a "chip" for engine management

find a hondata tuner or neptune tuner or something near you...thatyll be the BEST program

I understand and agree with you, but what options are left to those who do not have a tuner who can tune hondata, neptune, crome, or any other type of standalone type system.

I myself do not have any access to a tuner that can program standalone type systems. Many people use EMS, Hondata, Zdyne, Haltech, etc, but are all working with a base map initially and just running the car and making blind adjustments. At the most, they use wideband A/F to tune. Dyno is also another problem, hasn't been working forever.

Given this, I see the best option left is to get a good chip as a base and work of off it using wideband O2.

Not the best option, but it may be the only option for some.

You can adjust the fuel map with the VAFC in increments based on rpm. But ignition and other elements will be set based on the chip.

well just like here..no real good tuners on the island..so if i have been staying here..my next motor wouldve been only a mild lsvtec with a itr ecu..no sense get a motor that needs good tuning, when none is available..just what i learned from experience

I guess we all in the same situation here. Hey Goldberg you live in HI, I live in Guam, a smaller island with even less resources. At least you guys have some decent performance shops. We basically have none.

We should be getting the dyno back up and operational shortly. Maybe within a couple of months. It is a good start. All we need is someone to tune the vehicles, I mean someone with vast reputable experience and not those who just guess and tinker with buttons.

I have set up quite a few 12 sec all motor cars on a base chip and an apex it works alot of people have had success with it but of course something such has crome, hondata etc with someone who knows what there doing is gonna be your best choice. The key is to get a map that isnt some generic god knows what proggy. Alot of people on h-t can set you up with something close

Same here . I live in Turkey, there are a few tuners here and they are asking for some crazy money . I bougth a wideband, cromepro, chip burner, romulator . Now everything is fine . Some great sites for DIY tuning :

I'm also getting a ecu from phearable.net. I still will need to get on a dyno for the fine tuning.
