Stolen and stripped....don't let this happen to you!
So.....Last Thursday my Acura Integra was stolen from right in front of my house. I filed a police report and was notified a week later that there was bad news. My baby was recovered but completely stripped. SoCal Integra owners beware! I live near the 405/10 and they found it near the 110 in an alley.... I should have added a security system to it but I'm from NorCal - total suburbia where cars aren't jacked that often. Will keep scouring the forums for recommendations on a good security system....

The insurance company's going to give me 9k (give or take) for it.... It was a 99', stock, with 60k miles. GR!!! I was considering the RSX but it's out of my price range so I think I'll probably go with the Civic EX. Man, this week has been pure devastation. Out of spite I almost want to buy used Integra!
I test drove the EX today and it felt alright. Braking seemed soft for my likes....

Damn man, sry to hear that. At least there was still a motor in it. Most of the time here in NC when a car gets stolen it comes back BARE...no motor, tranny, harness etc. Get another teg just to show those bastards whose boss, just be sure to install some hidden anti theft devices.

so they did a partical interior strip, and riped off some body panels, and the stock intake...LOL I dont see any reason why you can re-build the car. It is not crashed, just missing some parts. Good time for a JDM front end!!!
Don't let that little incident pull you away from the integra. Buy it back and fix it up. The civic has a high risk of getting stolen too.
Now, you have a chance to rebuild it to your preference. 9k is more than enough.

The insurance comp doesn't want to give me the retail value, which is 11k+, TrueCure. They're offering me the private party value but I'm still fighting with them. No matter what, consumers seem to get screwed over by insurance companies. JDM front end....LOL. That'd be pretty freakin' sporty. Hm, maybe if I had a garage instead of a carport....
Fight for more money then buy it back. Then sell off what you can. I know I'm interested in some parts. That way you can make more money. Then buy yourself a GSR and throw in layers of security in it.
Or get the EX, swap in an LS or GSR motor --piece a turbo kit on it and call it a day

Those are just cosmetic stuff you can get for cheap, car still drivable and they didn't do any vandalism so you can get it back and put it together.
If you want I have a bumper you can buy for cheap.

A lot dont. But some let you buy it back. Hence why I suggested it. Don't be a smartass.
