Default LS vetch question

I am thinking about LS vteching my DA but I was wondering should I go with a GSR head or a head off of a civic Si, I heard that a GSR head is more reliable but I think I would like to get more opinions.

its really up to you id personally go with the b16(si) head because i belive it flows a bit better and it has a better intake manifold design but the gsr head has its benifets to it has smaller combustion chambers thus giving you more compression

the gsr head flows better besides the stupid intake manifold that it has on it, the combustion chamber is smaller for higher compression but the intake ports are huge compared to a b16 head

ive got a turbo on mine and im running a b16 head, and it does great. but to get it to flow like a gsr head you will need to get some head work done to it

just get whatever you can get your hands on if you find a good deal on a gsr, then dont let it pass you up

for what you will pay for a GSR head you can probably find a B16 head and have it ported and polished for about the same price

to be honest, it really doesn't matter. the b16 flows better, but you could only tell on a flowbench. it's not even noticeable. the gsr has slightly higher compression because of the weld beads in the combustion chamber. either one will work fine.

I'd have to say its whatever gives you the better price. If you can get a b16 cheaper and it's more convieniant to you then I would go for it. Same goes for the b18c

the actual b16 head is a type r head but with slight differences
1 type r got dual springs and bigger cams
2 i belive type r got shorter intake tunners
3 tper is polished intake
but since u going turbo u dont need polishing i think u ll need bigger and better flowing intake
by tha way in my opinion doin turboed lsvtec gonna cost lotsa cash
im doing lsvtec na for my teg and its not cheap
have u thought about gettin a gsr engine and slightly building it up and put turbo on it so u can sell ur complete 18b block and compensate for the gsr swap a lil

Go with the b16 and use GSR or typeR cams with a full race intake manifold. Who said speed was cheap?
