Default New Air Filter or CAI

Ok I probably need to replace my air filter about now. It's come down to should I replace it with a K&N or similar air filter or should I go with a CAI. I can get a K&N one cheap but still $100 more than just the air filter. I don't really want my car any louder it is too loud now with the exhaust and I don't care too much about looks under my hood I mainly just want preformance and maybe a little better gas milage. Would it be worth it? I'm kind of tired of this car anyway as it just seems like a slow POS no offense to the guys that like their Honda's I'm just not crazy about it. I want something that when I get on the gas goes instead of having to rev it up til it hits vtec just to merge with traffic and still about get run over by mini vans. I find myself driving my truck a lot more now as I like the power of the V8 but don't like the crappy gas milage it also gets. I would like to be able to spin the wheels when I get on the gas hard but I don't think that will ever happen with this car. Overall I'm not sure I want to spend more on this car than I have to as I could spend it on gas or something like that but would be willing too if it made a differnce in power. I mean can you actually feel a power differnce with one? Would you guys say it is worth it?

There will be a slight power increase with a new intake (entire piece from throttle body to air filter). My suggestion is to spend a little bit of money and get a cheap ebay intake and when the air filter gets dirty just replace it with a k&n.

If you already have an aftermarket intake then clean your filter.

If you have an oem intake I would honestly just take out the air jug and put in a drop in k&n.

Yup have stock intake now was thinking of just taking the filter out and dropping in a K&N but may get the whole intake. I thought about the eBay idea but really the K&N intake is not much more at the price I can get it than a eBay one. I would probably just run it as a short ram though if I got it as I don't want it at the bumper for when I go through puddles.

as far as feeling a difference.. no.

some pple say you can, but you cant feel just a couple HP unless your on a lawmower. now, when i put my CAI on, it was much much louder, which is what i wanted..and thats what makes you think you have more power.

and i ended up cutting about 8" off my CAI to keep it in the engine compartment after i read up on hydro lock..and it was also the weekend the last hurricane hit florida..bad timing to buy a CAI i guess

just ordered one on e-bay for my 96 accord i was going to get an injen intake but didn't have the money so i just went ahead and ordered one.... Should be here by this week i know that feeling about the car being slow. This is my second accord i wreaked my first one thanks to a 11 year old (BASTERD) but anyway I love accords with a passion I test drove a 2000 civic Si bad idea i though the car was going to be faster than my accord 160 horses with a little bolt-ons CAI, and blah blah. Man that damn car was slow the only thing about accords they just have alot or little torque.

I still can't decide lol. I just don't like when my lifted Ram with mud tires on it can take my Honda Accord. I like to be able to spin the tires which this thing can't do easily.

I have been told on here that CAI dont make much of a hp diff. I just got my Accord so I aint Accord horsepower smart yet. It would be nice to add another 20 to 30 hp, but the dollar cost versus the gain is way out there, unless you spray or boost. Not here this is a daily driver.

I have decided to get a short ram, something under 100 bucks.

Yup mine is a daily driver also and don't want to spray and don't know that I really want boost plus don't like the $3k plus price tag for it. I would use my Ram as my DD but I don't like getting the 8-10mpg so I drive the Accord as my DD but due to lack of power have found myself getting in the Ram a lot more than I really want too.

When you get an intake, you should get the best one, it might be more money, but you can use all the hp you can get. i had the aem v2, yes it was expensive, but then again i was able to tell the difference in hp right away
