bolt in cage with full interior?
i have a 92 hatchback and was looking to get a cage soon. i want to kep as much as the interior as possible(rear seats) because it will be a daily driver. i like the monkeybar type cage because the bars extend to the front of the vehicle. from what ive seen the 4 points dont extend to the front. anyone know a company that has these??? i seen on on http://www.safedrives.com. the s&w 8 pt roll cage but its dirt cheap..any comments?.
what do you want?Monkeybarzzzz that are mad JDM and cool?or do you want a functional cage?
first off,no bars forward of the hoop on a street car.there's a ton of info on this site concerning why you shouldn't have a cage in a street car.do some searching and learn.
the Autopower street rollbar fits with the interior in.i had this in my car,and it fit pretty well with the whole rear interior.
i don't even know why i touched this

yes,but keep it to a rollbar, not a rollcage.wrecking on the street with a rollcage(having bars forward of the main hoop)with no helmet, bucket seat or harnesses you'll be worse off than having nothing.our cars are so small that it's impossible to get the roof bars where you can't hit your head on them in a crash.

so are u saying the S&W cages are childplay or that you are just stating dont get those millions of bars that cross at every bolt point in ur car. The S&W are good cages. not ur chrommoly or ne thing but it will serve the purpose. my friend has an S&W in his 10sec stanger and it seems to hold. he has an 8 point

i have no experience with S&W rollcage/bars,and wasn't saying anything about them.
i was talking about "Monkeybarzz".you know-the non functional, for show use only,as many bars placed in extremely visible areas as possible type setups.

My old cage was similar to the one below. I will post pics of my old cage and the wrecked car in a couple hours since I do not have pics on my laptop.

Thanks to this bolt-in JDM rollcage I limped away from a 50mph T-bone with a severely bruised hip and 3 cracked ribs. I did not suffer any head injuries because the cage was padded and I was using a required bucket seat. The only thing I didn't have was a shoulder harness. Without the cage I would have atleast been crippled since the door should have been smashed down to the center console.
The new cage has more brace points and a lower doorbar. I'm a single guy who doesn't believe in being a taxi service so backseats are useless to me :D

I forgot I had pics on my Car Domain site and other places. Better pics of the wreck are lost somewhere on one of my hard drives.
This is a rear wheel shoot were more than half of the tire could be seen after the wreck.

The initial impact was directly on top of the mainloop. Lucky for me the front of the other car could not fit between the main loops. Pics of the wreckage can be seen here.
This is the new cage. The one in the pic is actually for a WRX. My pillar stays are different and my door bars are lower so the door panels can be used. It is FIA approved and street legal in Japan.

Pics of the new cage installed can be found here on H-T and on page 5 of my Cardomain site.
What's my point? Bolt-in cages that are constructed properly will perform their intended duties
!!

Here's my S&W 8pt.

From what I was told, they don't make the rear bars the way they used to in order to keep the rear seats.
I've had an autopower 4pt before and it fit well also.
