Sulphur Smell...
When Im Driving on the Highway and i floor my 2000 Accord V6 EX Coupe... after i slow down i smell a smell a Sulphur type smell and then when i get home it still smells... What could this be/mean?
Also... when i hit anything above 80 and slow down to about 60 with the breaks... the steering wheel shakes... i think i need to get an alignment or something but i just want to make sure nothing else is bad...
Also ive noticed if my tank is less than about a third full, that it takes me to 3.4 ish rpm before it changes gears and i hear the motor sound as if im punching it.. in my daily driving when its being driven normally... but after i fill up the tank it will go back down to around 2.4-29 RPM ish to change gears.. depending on how hard im stepping on the gas. is there anything to be concerned about that?
another thing.... when i punch it all the way i can go to about 110 and then it switches into 4th gear and just stays at the 4RPM and will gradually get to 115 but wont budge past 4RPM, the fastest ive ever dared to go in the car because it doesnt accelerate fast enough and i have to slow down cuz ive caught up to some traffic...
the car is basically stock... all it has is GReddy Exhaust and the rest is just cosmetic changes.... im planning on doing more but im saving up... i have about 400 saved up to do a manual conversion
im gradually getting there =P then i want to go for supercharger or turbo, i havent decided yet and ill start to seriously think about it after my car becomes manual
Any help would be appreciated thanks...

For your steering wheel shaking you dont need an alignment you need to get your rotors turned. For the gear changes if ur not gettin any flashing lights on the tranny i think it should be ok. Honda autos arent the greatest trannies in the world. Does your car have a speed limiter? that could be why you cant go past 115 unless your car ran out of power. But i dunno bout the sulphur smell. Is it comin out the exhaust or can you smell it in the cabin?
A predominate sulfer smell can be generated by the catalytic converter during high load conditions (Toyota is notorious for this) where the Fuel Management System is enrichening the mixture for the increased horsepower demands. This NORMALLY occures going up grades or towing trailers. If this occures all the time, rather than under load, I would look for anything which would cause the engine to run rich; Air cleaner filter (etc) and check for fault codes which may have been set.
The rotors must be machined (front) for the steering wheel shake.
The trans shifting condition may be normal. There are many factors which determine shift operation including Throttle position, engine vacume, road speed, selector position and engine tempurature. One thing you have to remember, not only is it a 3spd automatic, but also has a 4th (overdriven) gear and a lock-up torque converter; so there's a lot going on there.
You may have a problem here, and it could be related to the sulfer odor you're complaining about, my 4 cylinder will happily rev past 5k in 4th (with an Auto). IF everything else checks out, I'd suggest temporarily installing a "test pipe" in place of the converter, and take it on the road again and note any differences. You MAY have a resriction

I personally have had my 2000 2.3 to 127 (with no mods) and it really didn't take that long. I'm not sure but I dont think the speed limiter would be set at 115 on that car because I have friends with V6 accords that have went well past 130.
I hope its not the transmission because its still new!!! When my older brother bought the accord NEW the transmission crapped out at around 40k miles and he had it replaced by the dealership under warranty... right now it has 62k miles total on the car so theres only 22k miles on the transmisson..
I think.. ever since he put the GReddy exhaust has been on the car the sulphur smell has been there but since IVE been driving it i punch the gas alot more than my brother did so maybe thats why ive been noticing the smell more often.. the smell only appears if i straight floor the gas pedal but i can smell it after i have decelerated while im driving...
no lights are on except the damn SRS light from a dip my brother hit too hard like 2 years ago... i want to reset it but i dont want to do it by myself cuz i might screw something up lol i did find the DIY on the site on how to reset but im still paranoid...
and the maintenance light recently came on around 60k so i have to change the timing belt and stuff...
about the speed thing i finally hit 125 and slowly still rising but it was because the road was slightly sloping down... but the tach still wouldnt budge past 4k RPM.. not one notch. i was sort of suprised because i know this accord has a 120mph governer on it...
i dont have to worry about the rotors because my freind has life time warranty on rotors for the same model accord as me at autozone so i can change those completly
i did notice that they are sort of worn so thats my fault for not changing em..
however i still dont like the over revving to about 3.4 in extreme cases in the daily regular driving =/
i hope he cat isnt going bad.. maybe its just dirty and i can get it cleaned or something..
thanks for all the help

Although a fanny burp can sometimes remind you of how many boiled eggs you had for breakfast, it doesn't smell like burning oil. Just like a human tail pipe expulsion, you're dealing with sulfer dioxide when you get that "rotten egg" odor.
It is, as we all know, colorless and gives no visible clue that it's present. It is primarily due to the Catalytic Converter being asked to process an excessive amount of unburned hydrocarbons (Fuel Management System).
Burning oil, on the other hand gives both visible (gray / white smoke) and olfactory indicators. And although readily apparent from far to many car exhausts, it's NEVER seen expelling from a human (unless you're into something I certainly don't want to talk about).
That being said, both are exclusive to each other.
