hey fellas,
Okay I have a 90 Civic Hatch with an A6 and a ZC tranny. I broke my diff last week at the track and need to put in a new one. While I'm in there I'd like to swap some gears. I know about the 5th and final from an 88-91 Si gear box. But can I use gears from say a 92-95 Civic DX/LX? Are they just strait drop ins like the Si's? I've heard of people doing this. The reason for going with a tad bit longer final (5th gen LX coupe has a 4.058 and 4th gen Si has 4.250) is cost. Also the 5th gen comes with a .702 5th gear over the .771 out of the 4th's Si or Dx. Anyway, my question is simple, is it possible to just drop in the 5th gen's gears in my ZC tranny or what do I need to do to make this happen? Thanks.
later, PDX

So I can use the 5th out of a 5th gen for my 4th gen gear box, but I need to use the 5th from the input and output shafts, right?
Thanks.
