Question: Really possible? B-Series mounted to D-Series? Advantages or disadvantages?
I've heard somewhere that swapping throttle bodies off a B-Series is possible to mount to D-Series (Z6 intake manifold)? Is this really true?
If it is, what really is the advantage, if at all, to doing so on my set-up? (maybe not if I'm forced induction, I dunno)?
My setup on my CRX includes a D16Z6 with custom turbo setup (Garrett T3/T4 with FMIC at 9psi)

to the best of my knowledge H,D,B series throttle bodies are all interchangable.. I had an H22 throttle body on my z6 in my old del sol. The advantage is the bigger bore = more/better air flow. if you just put the it on there really are no advantages. BUT if you take the time to remove the intake manifold and port match the manifolds opening to the same size as the throttle body, throttle response should be better as well as maybe a little tq. and hp. added. When I did mine i removed the intake manifold removed the old TB put the new one on without the gasket and with a very fine tipped marker traced the new hole size onto the manifold opening then removed the new TB and with a dremel and a grinding bit opened the hole up to the same size (dremel just a tad bigger than the trace line) as the new TB. then all you have to do is trim out the gasket with a razor blade so it is also the same size (you WILL need a new gasket). It takes some time but i did notice a difference in throttle response and a little low end torque difference, although the tq dif. could have just been placeebo (sp?)
PS! if you do this make SURE you get ALL the little metal shards out of the manifold if they got sucked into the engine it could be bad.. all i did was blow the manifold out really well with an air chuck... although i do not know if you have access to a compressor.. if not find another way but make sure its cleaned out really well. Also when i took off my manifold while i had it off i stripped all the compenents off it and cleaned it out really well with parts cleaner and brushes. it looked brand new inside and out when i got done with it.

Thank you... Does anyone have any idea if this will be any advantage to me even while FI'd?
yes i put a ported b16 TB on my turbo y8 and i got a lot better throttle response. i would say for the money its a great mod
edit: i had a skunk2 mani which had a bigger opening then the stock y8 mani.
