Install oil squirter in LS block...possible?
Looking for ANY informations about tapping/installing oil squirter in a LS/B18A/B block. Is it possible? I heard it can be done but can't find any info about it.
Can any one post pictures, write up, or links?
thank you for checking.....

I have 3 LS blocks that I am going to boost it, but I know LS block does not have oil squirters to cool down the piston's temperture. I have hear some one did on a B20 block and I am wondering if LS block is the same way to drill and tap it, and where to tap. Is the same location as GSR block?
Any one has any info will be great help!

The best way to "make sure not to melt the pistons" would be to make sure it's tuned right. The oil squiters are only meant to cool down the OEM cast pistons in VTEC block that rev relatively higher than non-VTEC blocks. Most builders plug up the holes for the oil squiters if they're building a VTEC block with forged pistons, since they aren't needed for forged pistons.

One reason why smart builders plug them up (with forged pistons) is probably to stabilize the oil pressure (more oil where it is needed most--main and rod bearings). Its just like the Toda "Vtec Killers"-- a good reason for getting rid of the small lobe and the whole vtec mechanism is to stabilize the oil pressure--as the vtec rocker shafts have (I think) something like 64 small holes each--they are just controlled leaks.

Not if you already have 3 LS blocks in your garage. So it is not cheaper if have to buy a GSR block....
Thank you for all the input, but wouldn't be better put in oil squirters if you running turbo with LS or B20 block? since turbo increse intake air temperture!
