Default Opinions on Crane Stage 2 cams

Specifically how do you guys like em?
Friendly on the tune?
How's the idle?
What's the power like? Numbers?

(Interested for a B18c1)

I've got them in my b18c5 and compared to the itr cams I think they're a little better plus they're not too hard on the pockets.

no problems with the breakage here <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Icey112 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ive had a few friends with them in there cars and 2 of my friends that had them there intake cam broke with in a year</TD></TR></TABLE>

and never heard of it previously. Maybe u thinking crowers??? Or maybe your friends dont know how to intall them???? who knows

Either way.. I run these cams. They make decent power, I would personally recommend the stage III's (if u got the displacement and compression)

But the twos are rough to idle, but make good midrange, and topend to around 8,500 or so. I have had no wear problems with cams or rockers. I ran the REV highlift valvetrain with them and has worked great to 9,500 rpms.

Well right off of cranes site and the install instructions it says for use with FI applications you will just need to reduce the overlap via cam gear tuning.

To do this u just advance the exhaust more than the intake.

Nice!! Have u ever tuned any n/a apps? Im curious where they like the overlap because crane makes it clear that cam gear tuning is necessary. My setup needed cam gear adjustments just to idle.

Not tune Crane St2 on any NA setups - Pro1s, BC4, M22gen1, BloxB/Sk2St2, Peak Pro Series/Toda C, ITR/CTR

i am using crane stage 2 cams and valve train in my mildly built b16. 11.3:1 CR fully worked head, AEBS IM, 64mm t/b, 4-2-1 header w/2.5" collector, 2.5" high flow cat and 2.5" exhaust.
With the stock intake manifold and t/b and a crappy dc 4-1 w/stock cat and 2.25" exhaust i made 165whp and 113tq, tuned with an unknown chip and vafc2. It peaked at 7500rpm and plateau'd until 8200rpm's where the power dropped off.
I've since put on the AEBS IM, fakedata IM gasket, 64mm t/b, 4-2-1 header w/2.5" collector a 2.5" high flow cat and 2.5" exhaust. It pulls much harder especially up top and it pulls all the way to 8500rpm now.
I've also noticed a little rough idle. I've spoken with people running other brand stage 2 cams and they said that their idle was fine.

Well some stage 2 cams ie skunk 2 blox, etc have similar to stock primaries with bigger vtec lobes and the cranes have bigger both.
