so i think she finally gave up tonight....turbo gsr dieing...dead...on the way home from work on the freeway it started to overheat so i sed ok ill jus drive harder and put the heat on (usually works)...welp this time it went past the "H"...and stayed...wen i got off my exit it was sorta smokin white out the back...then she died on the overpass....got it pushed off the side waited for 30 min too kool started her again and wat do u kno?...she went!...drover home smokin for 15 min....now shes here in the front dead...wat can it be?...thers oil spillage from my couplings but i thik its from the turbo kuz the seals are really bad...other then that i still have a little bit of coolant in the resivoir...and she was overheating the whole way...maybe my headgasket?....help...

Brilliant! When you find out your engine is overheating you gun it? That's just the brightest thing I've heard all day. And then you drove it for 15 minutes more while it was bellowing smoke?

If your reaction to this situation is any indicator of how you've treated your motor in the past...maybe that's the reason it's done in? Just maybe though!

If there's coolant in the oil you've at the very least got a blown head gasket. Since you decided to keep driving it I'd say you've got a warped head and/or block. Your motor is hosed. Time to destroy another one!

 

well if u have white smoke out the tail pipe..thas pretty much blown head gasket at the least..prob more...i'd say get new engine..maybe NA..prob not accoding to your sn..well good luck with the new motor!

You probably blew the headgasket and fucked it up more by pressing on.


The cheapest way may not be the most convenient way, but you'll look back and thank yourself for stopping when you have several thousand more dollars in your pocket.

 

You need a Bicycle or a set of rollerblades. Not another GSr motor to screw up. I want one too someday.(im serious)

ok some replys were kool but some just suked....well see the thing is i was going home to my family from work and wen i was on the freeway and it got very hit i had no choice but to keep on driving because i already knew she was toast i just needed to get home...that why i pushed it....i dont deserve tegs?...comon now what would you have done?...i did not want to be stranded on the freeway so i went all the way...plus i didnt wanna pay the tow...so i did wat i had to do in this situation...and its my onlt car so i knew wat was coming i just pushed her as long as i could....also if i get an ls motor do i need an ls wire harness or can i use the gsr?...i kno ill need the ls ecu aswell.....thanks again guys!.............(gsr motor parting out)

 

What replies sucked? What do you expect when you come on here and say that you drove your blown up turbo GSR home? What I would have done, is called a tow truck, and had it towed home. That is exactly what you shoulda done. Now you are gonna spend more money in the end cause you wanted to save a few bucks in the beginning by not getting a tow. Umm, lets compare: Tow truck... maybe 200 bucks. New GSR motor... 2500 or more. Now, which one hits the wallet worse? If you cant afford a Tow, how the hell can you afford a turbo teg? This **** pops up, you need backup money for this stuff. why don't you just buy a cheap *** beater car to drive around most of the time? That would probably be better?

Gsr motors are expensive when you are buying them legit(i.e. not stolen). Get it. Thanks. And yoou didn't have to drive your car hard when it was on its last leg. Jeez. Just get something boosted from the factory... i.e. 1988 Turbo sprint 1.0 liter.

get a new engine, while getting a new engine, (not trying to be a jackass) learn more about engines in general.

what you should of done was just pull over and call a tow truck instead of pushing it hard
