Well I have the common speedometer/odometer problem that seems to plague all CD5s,seems that my speedo only works about 1/4 of the time and the VSS is fine.So thought it would be a good time to replace it and wondering what other clusters might fit...I could swear I saw a GSR cluster in a CD5 but don't remember where.Any ideas,input,suggestions?Thanks!

 

sure, if you want a horribly inaccurate tachometer, go for it. if the VSS is fine, just get another accord or CL cluster

 

there was a guy that had a 97+ prelude cluster in a 5th gen, looked cool but it didnt fit perfect...

And according to the guy who did it, it was also a HUGE wiring nightmare.

 

he did a OBD conversion at the same time.. the cluster itself is NOT hard.. long as you can match wires to wires based on a helms manual.

 

So will this cluster fit,its from a '99 CL

 

well hell, that looks identical to a 5gen cluster...except for those metal brackets on the top and the side mounting points removed...the bottom mounting points look the same, you could probably just bolt those two in there and call it good.
the shape looks identical though, so is the bezel and intrument lights, etc.
so yeah, it will fit...

 

I was having the same problem with my speedo right before it quit working. Changed the VSS and nothing happened... So i just changed the actual speedo and everything worked again. But, if you're like me and can't stand the fact that the stock cluster is very poorly lit and the gauge needles are really hard to see at night with my indiglo white gauges. So, I went in search of an "easy" fix. What I found was that the cluster from the 97-99 (4cyl or 6cyl), or the 2000 (4cyl only), Acura CL fit just fine and look cosmetically the same except for the orange needles. I don't know if the orange needles light up or not, but I think they'll contrast better with my white indiglo gauges.

 

Thanks...I might just use the CL cluster then....don't care much for the font,but the orange needles look nice.I was just wondering if it's plug and play or plug and pray.
