car shut off while making a turn
As the title says, my car totally turned off while I was making a turn. Earlier before this happened I was stopped, and it acted like it wanted to stall, but didn't. I have a couple ideas what it could be but not too sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My teg has never died on me like that, but i used to have a Volvo that had crazy electrical problems, where as in, one time i was pulling into a buddies house and it completely died.
Check for loose connections, and you said when your car died when it was stopped, did it stutter at all, or just completely shut off?

One problem that i have is that the o2 sensor is bad, now whether or not that would cause this problem....i have no clue.
When i was stopped it acted like it was going to stall, but never did. Just when i made a turn is when it totally died and shut off. There were no signs of anything before it happened.

did it cut off in the process of turning the wheel? is it a DA or DC? if it's a DC it might be something in the power steering. DA's only have power-assisted steering.
sounds like a spark issue, i had a similar problem with my car shutting off while turning onto on ramps and ****. when was the last time you inspected your rotor/cap/plugs/wires?

def check out those things i listed, my problem was the rotor on my distributor

take off your distributor cap, and make sure that your rotor screw didn't back out.
if that's okay, take off a spark plug wire, hold it next to the valve cover, and have someone else crank the car. make sure you're getting a bright blue spark. a golden yellow spark means there's not enough energy getting to the plugs, and there's probobly something wrong in your distributor.
turn your key to the on position. make sure you can hear a clicking under the dash, and a humming sound from the backseats. this makes sure that your main relay and fuel pump are working.
look at your vacuum hoses connecting to and from the throttle body. make sure none of them are disconnected.
after you do all of this, get back to us. you'll probobly come up with something after you do all this, which will give us something to work with. good luck, man.

Ok, i checked everything, and it all seems to be ok. My question now is that i know my o2 sensor is bad, but would it make my car stall out and drive bad? I drove it yesterday and it seemed like everytime i would let off the gas to shift the rpms would drop as if it was going to stall, and it smelled like gas inside the car. The only time it stalls completely is when i'm in a middle of a turn.
Getting ready to go buy a universal o2 sensor. How hard is it to change out an o2 sensor by your self if you have never done one before? I'm just worried that I may not be able to get the old one out. I guess all I need is a 22mm wrench??

nooooo! get the one that's made for your car. universals suck, unless you solder and heatshrink the connections, which is a pain if you've never done it before. i know they cost more, but it's worth it.
get some PB blaster to help with getting the old o2 out. oh, and whatever you do, don't go to autozone. their parts are junk. checker, advance, napa, and car quest are all good.

Get an NGK/NTK oxygen sensor. You can find it for less than $100. Hell I think I got mine a long time ago for $75 shipped. DO not by any means get a BOSCH replacement.
And yes, all you need is a 22mm open end wrench.
BTW: a failed oxygen sensor will not make your car stall. However, you will get shitty gas mileage.

why no bosch one? ive had one for about two years and no problems....i didnt feel like paying the 180 for a new one from honda.

no CEL?

You will probably get a CEL code but it will not make your car shutoff. When was the last time you did a tune up? Like replacing the cap & rotor, fuel filter, spark plugs. It could also be your coil inside the distributor that's beginning to fail. It's hard to narrow down the problem at this point.
An NGK/NTK sensor is much more suited for HONDAS than the universal BOSCH or one supposedly made for our cars.
Besides I mentioned the NGK/NTK can be had for less than $100 and way cheaper.

I do need to do a tune up. I looked at the cap and it looks a little worn, but how do you tell if the coil is bad? The reason i said that maybe the o2 sensor would make the car stall is because i searched it on here and a couple people said that a bad sensor would make your car run and idle bad, which is what its doing. I just don't understand how it could smell like gas inside th car and stall only when i turn?

I don't see how it can be a spark issue when he's turning. I would assume a spark issue would occur at any time, not just a turn.

Maybe possible, if his ignition system is weak and causing the idle to be real low, in a turn with the added drag of the power steering system the car could stall out at idle.
