Default anyone had trouble installing a phantom grip??

anyone have trouble installing a phantom grip in a 92-95 prelude 5 spd trans. i have my H22 about ready to go in a civic. the phantom grip will not fit in between the two gears... it needs a lot more clearance. Phantom grip says its common, and to machine downt the two gears, but it will really be taking off a lot of material and i am very afraid of sacrificing reliability of my trans.

anyone have any input??

im thinking of returning the phantom grip and not having LSD, but im not so sure on that either.

get your money back, it's a piece of ****. get a real LSD or just keep an open diff and your money.

the PG will stop working in a year's time anyway, save yourself the trouble of another teardown.

I've ran into the same problem with and H23 tranny about 4 years ago. There was no way I was going to get a bunch of stuff machined ($) to run a $200 questionable-to-begin-with part.

I threw it back in the box and got a refund. Then, chalked the tranny disassembly up to experience.

glad to hear, i should have checked on the site before i ordered it.

i will be looking into one of the better LSD setups, as i dont want to have future problems.

thanks for the info.

i sent back the phantom grip and ordered up the Quaife yesterday. OUCH... what a price tag.... $1021 shipped to me...

they are real nice people over there... told me if i ever have any probs... to call right away and they will take care of it... they really seem to stand behind the quaife products... i cant wait to get it in so i can get my H22 into the civic!
