Default B16A1 clutchquestion

Hi guys,

I have been searching on the internet, but I could not find the answer to my question.

I received my new clutch. Accordig to my crx expert friend this clutch will fit, but the guy who will be putting it in my car has doubts about it.

The clutch I got has 24 splines. How mamy splines does a B16A1 clutch have?

i think they have the same # of splines just the cable splines are not as big as the hydro splines depends on your transmission if you ordered one for a cable you could order one from a 90-93 integra with cable trans ( assuming you have a cable trans) make sure you got the right throw out bearing too

It is NOT true that ALL cable tranny has same splines. JDM B16A cable tranny does have same splines and as well as USDM 90~91 Integra tranny. USDM 92~01 integra share the same spline count.

So now you need to know which tranny do you have and order the clutch accordingly.

Good luck!

I found this out today:

My VT (EDM) has a B16a1 clutch

That clutch has 24 splines... BUT

Yeah there is a but....

the ring where the clutch wheel (that is probably not the right name for it) should fit over the transmission is bigger for a b16a2 than for a b16a1

in summary: my clutch won't fit. I am searching for a B16a1 clutch asap and will have a B16a2 clutch for sale....

anyone?

just remember if you cable tranny came from JDM B16A, you will need a 90~91 Integra clutch kit. And if you have hydro tranny that came with JDM B16A/B18B/C you will need to order 92+ integra clutch kit.

hope you get your car running again soon!
