Default Coolant Leaking from Connecting Pipe

Today i noticed that coolant is leaking from a rusty area on the connecting pipe that runs from the thermostat housing to the waterpump area on the back of the engine (by the oil filter). Has anyone had this happening.

From the repair manual there isnt much help on replacing this pipe, and access is limited since it is underneith the intake maniford.

Thanks.

i removed the pipe today. it required some things to be moved out of the way first, like the thermostat housing, and air intake. I phoned a honda dealership and this is not something they have in stock so they have to order it in, 60 bucks Cdn.

Anyways, it did cause to much trouble coming out, so i hope it goes in fine once i get a new pipe. im also replacing the thermostat.

yeah, i live in canada, so lots of salt on the road probably caused this.

this is a 94 LX-r

thanks.

make sure you also get the new seals at end of pipe , put some hondabond before installing to prevent a leak

i ordered the pipe today and will install it tomorrow.
what is the best way to force it into it's position. Just push hard until it slips by the seal? should i push it into the waterpump side first, or the thermostat side? should i put some thermostat gasket seal on the little o-rings at the ends? will that work similar to honda bond?

i was surprised that the dealership had never previously ordered that pipe for a 1994 accord before. looks like mine was the first to rust through...

Thanks.

put a bit of honda bond on seals and when you install it do not push in staight or seal might fold over kind of rotate gently and apply a little inward force thus it will go in smooth and will seal properly ........install the part in pump first then you can install t-stat housing
