What are real HID's
I'm mulling over getting HID low beams for my JDM headlights. First off what are all these HID conversion kits I keep seeing on ebay? Is this a real HID kit right here.

Even tho my Car is USDM and my wiring harness are wired for 9006/9007 I would still want to get a H4,H1 conversion kit cuz those are the ones that will fit the headlight right? I mean I'm going to have probaly splice some wires so I might as well H1/H4 right?

Wow... He meant retrofit some H.I.D projectors from a bimmer or something into your headlights... Not buy ricey projector headlights... god damn...

Sure, if you buy some "HYpeR BluE" bulbs off ebay the color might be closer, but the ouput will still not be anywhere close (regardles if you are running H1's, H4's, 9006, or 9007)

Well most of the HID kit are real HID, but you need to be beware of the quality of those Crap Chinese/Taiwanese made HID.
My roommate bought a set from those Chinese made HID, works only for 3 weeks and there are lots of problems.
Therefore you should try somewhere with bettter quality, such as Real Hella or PHILIPS HID kits, although the price is much higher.
I got my set from http://www.hidynamic.com, they are selling the rebased Hella HID kits, the ballasts are made in Korea under a German production line and the bulbs are made in Japan. The quality of the lighting is really good.
I am thinking about adding the HID on my foglight too, still saving money right now.

Don't get any of that ****. In the case of a 4th gen (yours) get either E46 BMW projectors and bulbs (what i'm doing) or...I believe audi a4 projectors also fit. Then, disassemble your headlight housings and mount the projectors in your headlights.
By doing this, you won't have any of these stupid rebased bulbs (like what's being sold in the kit). You'll have actual (I belive D2S or something) bulbs.

No need to be racist about it. The reason they're crappy is not because the manufacturers are Chinese. The company itself is garbage. Buying from a proper company is more important than buying from the right country. I'm sure Korea, Germany and Japan all produce crappy things as well.
That said, Hella and Philips (sp?) are the best kits to buy. When you buy HID conversion kits like those advertised on the site you mentioned, you are buying rebased HID bulbs which will fit in halogen housings. This is not what you want. Halogen housings are designed for the light output of halogen bulbs. By placing HID bulbs inside the halogen housing, way too much light is scattered around, and it blinds people. This is why HIDs in non-HID-spec cars are illegal. Projectors, such as those found in BMWs, Audis, and the like, produce a clean cutoff line which prevents the light from your car from getting into other peoples' eyes.

My friend used E39 Head lights and bulbs and retrofitted it into his Lexus GS300. Plus retrofitting will allow you not to blind the **** out of other people when your driving and police wont get on your *** about it.
