Default crx sunroof lid removal

My sunroof lid is a little rusty and I have a new one on the way soon... I was wondering how to remove just the lid? Is removing the headliner and the whole unit necessary?

If you search there is a pdf document outlining how to rebuild the sunroof I belive.

Edit: If you can't find it PM me and I will email it to you.

yo, i've got a 90 crx and i broke mine getting it off.. BE SURE NOT TO BREAK THE BLACK PLASTIC END CAPS FOR THE RAILS. i'm still not really sure how to get it off w/o breaking them. but now that mine is broken it's really easy to get mine off the car. all i have to do is take 2x 10mm bolts. one off each side of the track. after that, the only trick is getting those other things to slide out and keep in the track.

sorry if none of this makes sence.

Yup...black clips you can see that are holding the sliding rail in the track on the sunroof lid. I don't know to get them back on though once I get them off. There's a couple other bolts that you will notice also,...but no need to take out the headliner for just taking off the sunroof lid. Good luck...

open it all the way..

there are two 8mm nuts on the back you need to take off, along with little plastic holders, with a metal ring inside.

then two 10mm bolts upfront....

then slide it off...

thats from memory..

you do not need to take off the entire ***. to replace the panel
