How to install TEIN HOOD DAMPERS on an EK9 /problemsafter aem v2 install
I recently purchased some TEIN hood dampers for my 00 si and the instructions are terrible. I am not really handy with a wrench so i was wondering how to install them
I also recently had an AEM V2 intake installed in my car. I noticed that my gas gauge never goes down no matter how many miles i drive. The only time it goes down is when i accelerate heavily. I heard it could be because of my ecu. The person that installed it (a reputible shop) forgot to disconnect the battery prior to install. can this have an effect..
any advise is appreciated

I'm not sure about the hood shocks, I've never seen a set in person,
However I don't really think the intake install, should have messed up your gas gauge, unless they did someting totally out of the norm.

the hood dampers are self-explanitory when you look at how they mount in there. Then again I made mine.
the V2 install. no way will it mess up the fuel gauge. Fuel sender is in the tank, fuel gauge is in the dash, ECU is in the passenger kick panel. None of the wires or controls run even close to the intake.
Also there is no real need to remove the battery for an intake install, I've never done it several times and I've never had any problems.
Since you had it done, take it back. They messed it up, they should fix it.

I think he's more refering to the added air flow of the V2 waste of $$ CAI. Pull the ecu fuse to reset it (next to battery) then the ecu will recalc itself over the next few days or so. You may see a change, you may not.

thanks for everyones help..i actually went back to the place where it was installed and they reset my ecu by unhooking the neg battery wire. it seems to be a little bit better than before however i still notice a bit of difference. i also installed the hoood dampers but they seem to be a little loose...i dont know if anyone else has had that problem..i tightened the hell out of some of the pieces because they kept buckling under the presure of the hood but it seems to be ok for now...aggain thanks to everyone for their replys..
