Default V-TEC for '92 Honda Accord

In the next couple months I will be looking for a new engine for my 1992 Honda Accord. It is completely stock right now and I want to put a V-TEC. I am planning on searching junk yards for cars that have been totalled but the engine is still good. Anyone know anywhere in Washington that is a good place to look or know where I can get one for a couple grand or cheaper? I also need to know what other new parts I'll need to put in to support the engine. Like I said, its a stock 92 accord and I want to change that. I am thinking of putting NOS or a supercharger on it in the future too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yep you can turbo ur f22a which isnt a bad route..its gonna be hard finding a VTEC motor in a junkyard nowadays. You might be able to pull F22B1 out of junkyards out of wrecked accords but i dunno how there condition will be.

I have been looking at the pictures but I can't tell exactly what you have done. I see an air intake system of some sort but that is all I can see. What else have you done?

How hard will it be to turbo the f22A and if I do find a VTEC or good condition f22B1, how hard will they be to put in. I'd like to do it myself, but I really don't have the equipment nor the knowledge so I'll probably just take it to a mechanic unless its really easy but I have high doubts it is.

Dropping a VTEC F series will bolt in just like a Non VTEC F series. All you ahve to worry about is wiring and ECU and the VTEC solenoid

Its not that hard boostin an f series. its a good motor to boost with the 8.8:1 compression if i remember. Usually ppl use a 1g DSM setup. If you check out http://www.cb7tuner.com they have a bit of 4gen with the turbo F series.

i have a 91 ex 4 door. i just put a SOHC VTEC out of a 95 accord ex. only mods to the engine is cai and exhuast. purchessed it from a wreaking yard close to you. called "u-fix-it" its in woodinville off HWY 9. any how bought the engine and all nessary parts for about $250.00. then about $800.00 for the install. then HMT wired it up for another $300.00. lots of fun to drive. but am in the process of boosting. good luck with whatever choice you make.

Is your accord a manual? Did you have to switch any of that around at all?

i did the same swap and mine was an auto but i changed it to a straight drive but you can do that swap easy but it is tricky to wire up the intake but you will be all right
