Whats dees?
I remember seeing this bike on the socalsv and hypercycles site, I thought about picking it up. Somebody on hypercycles was saying the seller was kinda shady though.
Welcome back, f00!
I say keep the track fairings on the bike - they're already rashed, so you don't have to worry about jack... and you'll be ready for a trackday in a hurry. Big Pete can give you the run down on installing lights easily for the street.
It'd be hot.

I knew the seller prior to buying the bike; nothing shady about him. Possibly one of the nicest people I know.

I'd be down for doing that; would save me a buncha time and money not to mention effort.

All in all; this thing is so much more responsive than the stock 929 i had. Possibly the smoothest FI bike I have ever ridden; the map is immaculate. No jerkyness from 0% throttle to partial whatsoever.

Most folks use some version of PIAA foglights up front (Confederate does this on BOTH their production bikes). To keep your suspension travel and integrate everything it's probably easiest to drill a hole somewhere in the nosecose and mount the light(s) facing out of that. Should pass inspection fine.
As for the taillight you can either cut out a spot for the regular 929 light (or other that you can easily get/like) or pick some aftermarket light with a bracket and just kind of hang it there.
I don't know about where you are, but you don't technically NEED turnsignals here in VA. If you want the added security you could easily do the taillight-turnsignal integrator so it just flashes one side of a 2-bulb light.
As for mirrors personal favorite are the CRG billet aluminum bar end pieces (and they're not too pricey, either.
I'm not too big of a fan of fully faired sportbikes on the street... something about them screams single-purpose-overkill (and who would deny that?
) but a fully faired, prep'd, and frequently USED track/race (you know you want to get your amateur license, anyways) bike - that's bad ***.

Oh yeah, I'm back.

Hehe, safest place for a diesel is on the road
Saying that I hate seeing a perfectly decent race prep put back into 'shopping' spec.

I had originally wanted to just fab some lights onto it but wasn't quite sure if CHP would pass the bike if stuff wasn't oem or carried a DOT stamp. Original plan was to buy a buncha stock krap and sell it off after getting inspected. The crg barend was also in my plans after i remembered how i liked riding my 600 mirrorless for a bit.
if i do use piaa's, i think i will attach the actual light to the upper fairing stay and just drill the nose after. i am a lighting nut though and there are HID's sitting in the garage...
thanks a lot for the great suggestions!

Has it got a generator still or is it running total loss?
I would llob some enduru stuff on it, dirt cheap and easy to fit into things.

theres a stator and battery on it. i'm beginning to think just fitting lights to the race body is the way to go as long as CA will approve it.

Unless you can ebay it all back together its hardly worth the effort. Road bodywork is such an ******* to get off and work on the bike. Plus it bounces better.
