Posting for friend who wants a new muffler
Okay guys I am posting for one of my friends who has a 2002 accord.. He has dual generic no name mufflers with 2 1/4 piping. He complains he isn't getting enough air flow. His new idea is to get single muffler instead of dual. He wants to get single muffler with 2 1/2 piping all the way. Is that more airflow for him and would it cause the car to be louder in any way?
Dual exhaust on a 4 cylinder does nothing except add weight. Ditch the dual mufflers and go with a single muffler if its a 4 banger, if its a 6cylinder then I would go header to straight pipe to each their own muffler.

Then go from header to straight pipe to muffler on each side.

If that makes sense.

Yea the 6 cyl isnt a true dual exhaust, most cars aren't. There should be a way to do 2 pipes, go to an exhaust shop and see what they can do, they'll be able to make you a custom setup.

Loud=air flow pretty much.
What he can do though is put on a good 14" or 18" resonator past teh cat on each pipe, and a straight through muffler, and it should keep it relatively quiet. Without a resonator its raspy and annoying...
