Default question about using different gauge clusters

for those of you who have swapped your stock cluster for one out of another car, or for an aftermarket unit, how do you keep track of mileage? especially if you're going from MPH to KPH?

i've thought about swapping clusters in mine, but is there a way to retain your stock odometer readings? and if so, is it possible to still keep track of your odometer readings in MILES rather than KILOMETERS?

thanks to any who reply.

Yes, convert the unit kph > mph or mph > kph and then roll it back. It's not legal but you can do it.

very true, and that's the other thing i've wondered about. do people replace the cluster with their stock unit when selling? leave the KPH piece in there? just curious.

it shouldn't be done period to protect the sellers and buyers repsectively.
Its a freakin gauge cluster dammit.
If you convert US to US meaning no tach to tach, you can change it with a drill.
Converting to US to JDM is do able, but a pain in the ***, and not worth it, especially when you take it in for inspection and they say WTF KM

I've done it to both of my Integra clusters. Here's what I used first. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=837111
But I can do it without taking the needle off now. For my buddies dx to ex cluster swap we just swaped his dx speedometer for is ex speedometer since the gauge faces are the same. Let me know...and I can do it for you if you'd like.
