how much was a 2001 type R when it came out

 

I purchased my brand new 2001 ITR at Cush Acrua San Diego for $23,500 couldnt really negotiate since it was the only one they had.

iirc $24,500 around abouts give or take a couple hundred including shipping. But I didn't pay the shipping on my second one.

Unless of course you lived in Cali and got fugged with whatever the dealer felt like tacking on.

Unfortunately though when you look at todays offerings it's kinda bleak for the same price.

 

i dont recall the actual price, but....

my dealership was charging 3 grand on top of retail as a "Market Adjustment"

 

R's still sell for prices out of my budget

Thats tight!!!! Wish I had my build sheet. Speaking of that, I know at Jeep you can give them your VIN and they will print you off a build sheet. Does anyone know if Acura will do the same?

Taxes shouldn't be included in a new vehicle price since they vary from state to state. If anything you need to take into consideration the lame "shipping/transportation" costs they tack onto just about Every if not all cars now days.

I've got two, one NBP, and another PY.

Which one is worth more? H'mmm.

 

when i bought mine i had the same sticker price of 24,500$ then the damn dealer add ons brought it up to 26,800 or 26,500, plus tt&l came out to about 29,500, or 29,800.

I didnt care about the price at the time i just wanted to get in and drive off.

 

i definatley kept mine. I would never get rid of it. I just wish I had the brochure. Damn...

The guy my boy bought his GSR off of paid $23,000 for it brand new. 2000 GSR. So, $23,500 isnt really that bad bro.

When I got my '98 GS-R they tried like hell to get me to buy a '97 ITR that they still had not been able to sell. It was just a few dollars more, but no AC or sunroof, and I didn't know what I was looking at. I also like the '98 nose better than the '97 nose.

Little did I know.

By the time it occurred to me I wanted it, we were in the '99 USDM model year, and no ITR anywhere.

When the model was reintroduced for the 2000 model year, there was a waiting list and many people did pay more than sticker because the dealers added a "market adjustment" and automatically added things like upholstery protection, fog lights, trunk mats, floor mats, mud guards, extended warranty and whatever else they thought they could get away with.

I drove from Richmond VA to Atlanta GA in December 1999 to get my black ITR at sticker price.
