Wear your visor down
i was riding around all day, and i turned into a mall parking lot. i was rollin at around 15 mph or so when a bee flies out of no where and blasts me right in the eye. so i'm trying to stay calm with this bee still stuck to my right eye while i'm rolling through the parking lot. if as things couldn't get worst, the damn bee decides to sting me right below my eye, and this didn't stop until i pulled over and grabbed the bee with my hand and threw it out of my face. i was tearing up like a bitch, and it hurt pretty bad. so remember to wear your visors down.
not to mention it's against the law
If you want to wear it up, wear sunglasses. I've had the same thing happen though .. i used to roll through Ruston Way (btw ... always have your visor DOWN when goin thru there, you WILL get a ticket) with it up just cause it was so nice and traffic would be pretty slow, and right when i was getting out of Ruston Way and putting down my visor, a pretty big bug flew into my eye. I could feel it moving around, so i pulled over and had to dig it out with my key.
it was pretty gross. but, just be thankful it wasn't a rock kicked up by a car .. the thought of that really scares me

you can wear your visor up or skull caps (which i think should be illegal anyways, as well i believe in mandatory helmet laws in all states .. just my opinion) IF you have eye protection like sunglasses.

hmm, I haven't heard about any of that for Alabama, and a lot of people ride visor up a good bit here, but then again we have more laws against sodomy that we do for emissions.
yeah, MN illegal to ride without some type of eye protection. makes sense tho, thats just an accident waiting to happen with all the debris thats in the air.
Glad it didnt sting in your eye....but sucks nonetheless i suppose.

You're right. Just looked up Alabama. Don't even have to have your headlight on there.

Doesn't surprise me, the fact that we have a helmet law is out of the ordinary.

I caught a bee to the neck between my helmet and jacket at around 70ish. Not only did the ****** leave a welt on my neck from the impact but it fell into my jacket and felt the need to sting me while in there.

I was out in Ramona last weekend, it was HOT. I had my visor up...and a small pebble shot into my right eye. It sucked, it sucked really bad.
Just remember, a visor won't always help.
Example, I havn't had the money or time to replace my windscreen with an aftermarket yet.
The stock screen throws the air right into my chest and up into the bottom of my helmet.
I can't count the number of times that I've had a fly, beetle, bee, or wasp come up from the bottom of my helmet and flop down onto the ridge of my helmet behind the visor.
Its then a rush to turn my head sideways and open the visor to keep whatever it may be from stinging/biting me.

Just a few days ago a dragonfly flew into me and almost knocked me off my bike. It hit me in the eye so hard it was red for hours. I had my shades on but they were tilted up a bit.
I've seen too many guts splattered accross my visor to not leave it down, lol.
Oh yeah, and Ohio law requires helmet for novice riders (< 1 year) and some kind of eye protection at all times.

try a 6" long 2x4. 18 wheelers can pick up rather large road debris.
