Hello all, I'm here to learn a lot more about JDM cars now that my brother has just purchased a 01 PY ITR. It has been a while since I've stepped into another japanese car since highschool which was a Honda civic DX hatch. The good old hatch days when I use to burn my tires on my huge 13inches and when I upgraded to massive 16inches were da ****. My brother has been ramping so much about how more fun his car is to drive than my car. Since highschool I have since been driving more of German cars up to date till present day. I've always love Japanese cars from all the high performance ones that my friends owned back in Thailand from modified EVO3's to 800HP supras, but not so much on Hondas. The NSX however, is the ultimate sports car that I have always been itching to get, but have never come around of getting one because of timing that kept negating the situation or opportunity. A new interest that I have been itching now are modded ricerockets like civics and integras which don't seem to be going away. The bliss of killing a abnoxious driver in a Mustang, Camaro, or Vette makes it ever so tempting.
Well I just wanted to say Hi, and I am sure to be on this forum much more now. I own a restaurant and bar in Denver, CO by the University of Denver filled with beautiful women, so if you guys want to look me up let me know. My name is Ton and glad to meet u all. I look forward to going to the track with my brother when he moves down here with his ITR and maybe the "itch" will be so bad by then that I decide to get me my own ricerocket.

Here is the pics that he sent me which are pics when he bought it from the dealership. He drove to vegas to go get them and hes been having a hard on about it months prior. Maybe you guys will know the former owner of this car. It has a AEM intake, DC headers, Apex Exhaust, and stickers.

It has got to be a owner from either NV or CA i bet.

Yeah this is the same ITR that was for sale on ebay. My brother found it on ebay and got the dealer to sell it for 16K, eventhough he bid it up to 17,499. Not a bad deal because he went back to the dealer and said this is all he could come up with, LIAR!!! but it worked, price dropped to 16k and it seems they were eager to move the car. Do you guys think its a good deal. I have noticed that bone stock ITRs seem to hold their value better than the modded ones, but how can you resist not to mod it. I was chatting with my brother earlier and seems like we agreed that besides a 50 shot wet nitrous kit, light pulley & cam gears, and possibly a VAFC; that is all that he is going to do to mod his car. He appreciates the ITR for the experience he gets driving it and my sister tells me he can't stop talking about all the positive comments he has been getting from people and how they are approaching him about it. It is funny because I sent down my Alpina740i that was fully decked out 3 years ago and he has had it up to this point, but he seems to be liking the ITR much better. Thats an understatement, he is liking the ITR WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. I'll post pic to illustrate my point. About a year ago I also sent him another Oettinger Audi A4 1.8T Quattro and I switched and brought the Brabus Mercedes down to Denver instead.

We have just chatted earlier and it seems that the JDM topic is a neverending discussion. To come and think about it, what my brother says about the friendly remarks might be partially true. I was more convinced in the beginning, but after reading more threads, it seems to not be so overwhelmingly true anymore. I'll just entertain myself and illustrate my point: People who own these cars are often perceived.......
1. BMW owners = Abnoxious, snobbish, but we like that
2. Mercedes owners = Classy but somewhat preoccupied with themself.
3. Jag owners = Classy want to be and cheap
4. Ferrari = Coolest people on the planet
5. JDM (grouped together because Asians are always grouped together as a whole in the US) = Evolving...use to be just value now all out performance
6. American = I was born in America, I love America, and America is the best
OK, at this point some of you reading this are just ready to flame me, but keep in mind I'm just illustrating a point and this one is hardly close to perfect, but true maybe 25% of the time maybe the most. If you can guess more than 25% right out of so many other possibilities, that is pretty darn good. There is really no point on saying this, but its just an observation, but after reading more forums trying to learn more about JDM cars, I still see the same ignorant ******** that love to just stir things up by flaming for the purpose of satisfaction rather than critiqueing for purpose of substantiation. Anyways let me get back to how excited we are with this new change.
We have now begun the process of selling these two cars with the audi sold and the BMW next once the transmission is fixed. We are going to go pure JDM for a couple years and I'm getting a feeling I'm going to be enjoying it just as much as my brother. I don't have an idea what i will be getting yet, but I'm leaning towards a EK civic to start with, but of course modded to a respectable point. Looks are not the priority, but I wouldn't go as far as finding one that wasn't pleasant to the eyes. I'm very excited, like a little kid about to get a new toy.
What has sparked my interest recently is that I've been participating more in forums starting off just simply selling or searching for parts, but then I started reading during my freetime. As I read more I started to make more friends in the forums, meet with other car enthusiasts, and discovered that there are some really ******* nice people out there. I am from Thailand and I have always appreciated JDM cars for my dad worked for Siam Motors in Thailand and we produce our own vehicles there for domestic use. We are second only to Toyota. Sorry Honda, we kicked your *** in Thailand, but I would argue on your side it is because of special laws in Thailand that governs displacement and horsepower through taxation. Skyline GTR's were kings there and I would say they had an edge on Ferraris based on agegroups 18-35.
People who are into JDM cars must really appreciate the beauty of their technology which differentiates it from cars from other countries. It is maximizing efficiency and minimizing deficiencies. Although creating something for masses like a Honda Civic, I guarantee you that those guys in Japan didn't put any less effort, thought, R&D, and time into it vs. the boys down in Italy. Do you ever thought why insurance in Japan was most expensive on cars that were white like how red and yellow cars are in the US? Ever think why white was their official color that represented their race technology vehicles? Take a guess. I don't know why, but I think it is because white reflects the most sunlight, making less heat absorbtion that when increased only deters performance. Red and yellow, most eye catching colors are more about catching a person's attention through design and "style." And this is why I have grown to love JDM cars over the past few years and have truly appreciated it for what the creators wanted me to appreciate. It is the same reason why I love the NSX and rate it the only car I would buy if I had the funds to do so. I would take it over a ferrari for the same reason that the creators down in Japan wanted me to. That is JDM cars for you boys because I just can't stand it when we go out and meet up with friends and kids with civics or integras feel inferiorated by the kids that own the Europeans. A true Honda enthusiast appreciates their car and don't you just hate kids who call their cars pieces of **** and don't take care of them. One they do it because they are implying that this "piece of ****" of theirs is only a temporary thing and that their taste and preference actually reflects something much better, but for the time being this vehicle is just a mode of transport that gets me from point A to point B. Justify, justify, justify. I DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE WHO THINKS OF CARS SOLELY AS MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION FROM POINT A TO POINT B. WHY? You get attached to a blanket that you hug everyday, a pillow that you are used to sleeping on, a calculator that is not the best, but you have gotten accustomed to it; or a tennis racket that is not made from the newest lightweight material, but you just prefer yours. You drive a car everday, spend countless hours in it, don't tell me you don't the very least become attached to it. You rely on it, you take care of it, it takes care of you, and it becomes the ultimate harmonic relationship.
Be proud of the car you drive. I love and appreciate them and have now left the DARK SIDE OF THE FORCE to true JDM. Proof, we sold both our Euro cars; and I'm itching really really hard for a swapped EK with a lot, aaaaaaaallllllllot of goodies.
THIS IS ONE OF THOSE DIARY MOMENTS THAT I HOPE ENTERTAINS YOU AND MAYBE......JUST MAYBE......EXPAND THE JDM CULTURE EVEN MORE LIKE THE RATE IT IS EXPLODING ALL OVER THE US RIGHT NOW. I'm planning on doing something at this Denver, heavenforsaken, non-existent car culture town. Anyone here with me feel free to contact me. I own a restaurant and bar with a lot located right next to the University of Denver filled with hot chicks. Cheap drinks, good food, hot chicks, talking all day about cars......Priceless
Have a good day.

Hi Everyone,
Mannnnn, this trial BS user max post 5/day is annoying the f*ck out of me. Looking for a set of rims to put on the ITR, but me and my brother were thinking of going with something a little more unique. Still looking right now but we got something in mind that will be truly unique!! Saving it to ourselves for now because it will take months before it is done if we decide to move along with it.
My restaurant is Stick-e-rice on University and Evans right by the University of Denver. It is literally walking distance from the dorms and all the fraternities and sorrorities, and you know what that means for the hardcore drinkers.
Restaurant work has been quite stressed during the first year, so HUGE RELIEF that my brother and "my crew" will be coming down. Got some super talented chefs coming from Thailand joining the party to spice our food up a hugggge notch! I'm more the "event organizer" or in simple terms the person giving my customers, friends, and neighborhood finding an excuse for people to come together, have a good time, and temporarily escape from the realities of a hardworking/living life we all experience. I have spent a lot of time thinking about some interesting ideas, special events, theme parties, charities (later though, i gave them too much already and it seems to only double my headache with more coming back to me), and social events for the next year once my brother gets here and we will have a full force to be able to do a lot of what I call "good times."
Haha, as far as the women, I can only show you the light. You must journey on yourself. But the women here are definitely gorgeous. I'm going to be focusing on the business with my brother and creating lots of "good times."
I'm trying to gather some information to put on a real cool import scene and group that is very closely networked together. I was driving down the other day down Leefsdale and spotted a widebody yellow GTi. I gave him the thumbs up!! I just love cars period!! The import scene in CA, which I also consider my home, pretty much set the tone since back in the days. The guys who shaped the import scene there are mostly in their 40's now, but I still talk to them today. Real nice standup guys and I got to say that these guys will forever stay young with their passion for cars.
Any of you guys who are in the RockyMountain Region and specifically Denver let me know if you know some people who have JDM running in their bloodveins. Instead of having lots of subgroups, be nice to bring everyone together. I have BIG BIG plans when my brother comes!! I will be working closely with all the organizations at DU that exceed 100 believe it or not; and any more I can get my hands into. Then the idea sparked to bring everything together. I am a member of vwvortex, nsxprime, e46fanatics, bimmerworld, honda-tech, thefacebook, friendster and am looking to get into more. It seems that the VW/Audi guys have an alright network, but it seems more rational to me that the JDM scene should be bigger if everyone comes together here and with the help on some people who have been here for a whie I think we can make things interest for all of us. I came here in 1996 and left for a couple of years, so besides my college buddies and the people I met through the university, my scope is quite limited. The good thing about owning a restaurant here is that the neighborhood is upbeat, liquor vendors are extremely generous with their resources such as Jagermeister trucks, promotional girls, new liquor campaigns, and all the goodies. Wink! Wink! Good Times
So………what you say……….have you? What you say??
Got ideas let me know. As soon as they lift my 5 post max thing, I will be posting a lot on the Civic/Integra pages, because I think I’m looking to get EK hatch.
OK heres a cookie for those of you who have to work today. Give you guys one hot chick pic for reading my long a$$ thread.
May I present Um, one of the beauties of my hometown Thailand to wake u start your days off.

have a good day.
