RSX as a family car.
I know this is a question that many will laugh at (yeah I love talking tech, but this time I have to be practical).... but I'll ask anyways.
I've owned a 98 Type R Integra for a couple of years and sold it due to my firstborn son. Now I'm debating an RSX for a family car (miss the teg..), since we only have one child. Is the boot bigger than the DC2 ITR? How much bigger?
Does anyone use their RSX as a family car? Will a child seat fit in the back? Does it have ISOfix support? Is it bigger than a Civic Si hatch (2002+)?
Hope someone can help. My current family car is an older Legend, and my pleasure car is a 91 NSX. I've had 2 ITR's, and used to be on this forum years ago, but this is my first post in years.

I dont think it would make a good family. Access to the back sucks. Not to mention because of the shape of the seats it will be harder to reach back and attend to the child when you are in your seat. Just me 2 cents.
It's not really a family car. I would suggest the Accord if you want to jump on the k-series bandwagon.
Room in the trunk(boot) is not bad but the room in the back seat is not good at all.
You could always stick with the Legend. I sat in the back seat of a Civic Si and RSX and I personally think the Civic is larger.

rsx sux to put a car seat in...doesnt matter if they're a toddler or a newborn...newborn is the worst cuz they stay in the seat when u take them in and out....the seats don't go up far enough to easily put a car seat in...u should get a accord or a tsx...or u can just get multiple car seats and just never take it in and out then its fine i think it has the iso supports i will get back to u on that one
no, RSX's not really a good family car imo.. 02 + Civic Si/R would be the better choice.. One thing for sure the civic will seat 5 and RSX only seats 4 with that
annoying middle divider in the back seat..
But I personally wouldn't prefer any of them as my family car. If you want something more family style and still sporty, WRX would be an execellent choice for the price.

I'm in Oslo yes.
We do get the Type-R civic, it's an option too.
Wanted to bring a car from the US because of the good exchange reate.
I would sell the RSX after a while anyways. Just would be fun to have an Integra again.
Thanks for all the replys. Conclusion: RSX Pretty much suck as a family car then, oki doki.....

I have owned a 96 & 97 Integra and currently own an RSX. My kids were in car seats in the Integras, but are now 9 & 10 years old. We had that little 92 Civic 2 door hatch when they were babies and to be honest with you, they are all just fine as family cars. HOWEVER I have also owned a 02 Accord and it is the softest ride of all the above and would probably be the even better car to have. My .02 is that if you are even slightly lazy about the car seat thing, then a two door is not for you. For me its worth the extra 5 seconds of fidgiting the seat into the car and enjoy what you drive instead of owning a compromise car you dont really want. Just do us all and youself a favor, dont buy a mini van ....lol.
iono about family cars. loading and unloading small children into the back of a dc2/5 constantly can get a bit annoying. id say go for a 4 door version of these cars, 4 door teg or tsx. it takes the load off of climbing in the back everytime.

I just want to say that I have an rsx and two boys 4yrs & 2yrs old and they love the ride. I even fit another person back there. Any car is good enough to get you to point a to b just as long as you get there. I only take the boys in the car when we are going some where fun or something, most of the time we go in the Ford Explore. So RSX family car? Only if it has to be. I would go for the TSX or TL if you want to keep it in the Honda family.
I went with the ep3. My son is two and a half, we dont have him in there very much, my wife has a Jetta, but getting him in and out isnt very difficult. The seat is really easy to put in and the passenger seat slides enough to get him in and out without difficulty.
We have another one coming, so in January I will get an Accord and get rid of the Jetta, but hold onto the ep. For just one kid, part of the time it's fine. If I had only one car for the whole family I would go with the USDM TSX.
Just my thoughts.
