bought a mount from jdmshit.com hpc auto to manual conversion transmission passenger side mount. here's some pictures below: i cannot bolt on 1 (red circle) of the nuts because there isn't enough clearance. any suggestions. that's a 92-95 ex/si transmission by the way.

update: jdmshit told me to use a set of visegrips to pull out that bolt and put in a longer 1?

that's what i'm saying... he said use "visegrips" i don't want to alter the transmission in anyway though. if i end up jacking up the thread on the screw by pulling it out, what then...

 

Take two 17mm nuts and thread them together and then just turn it out.

when u use 2 nuts.. it locks the nuts together.. then put some vice grips on the nuts and give it a good twist... ur gonna have to take the moutn back off obviously to get the bolt out

 

i wouldnt use vice grips, put a closed end wrench on it.

good idea...

now how would i actually put in another bolt. they all have heads on them so it wouldn't even fit. i'm pretty sure that thing is welded inside, not hung on by a nut. i need some more input upon the transmission before i start tearing **** apart.

 

Take it out how I said and throw a same sized but longer bolt in the hole.

so not welded? there is an actual nut in there holding this bolt in place? and where do i find a bolt without a head?

 

no the trans case is threaded, nothing holds that bolt in except for threads, take that one out and find a longer one and tighten it up.

use a bolt with a head.

 

some trans mounts come with a bolt there already. You are gonna discard the bolt thats in there now and get a regular bolt thats as long as you need and thread it in the hole.

I believe those bolts are 17's might be a 19 not sure, just go into your box of spare nuts and bolts and find one that works.

i got what you're saying now... we're going to screw in a bolt (not a nut) this time around to hold it in place. thanks dude... i appreciate your help &lt;3. you just save me 80 from a hasport 1 and alot of trial and error time.

 

in ur first pic you have three holes on the mount, two have studs coming thru, the other one was meant for a bolt......got me?

Now find another bolt just like the one that goes into the other hole......got me?

Now thread that ****** into the hole, put the nut onto the other stud, and put the other stud into the hole. bam your done!!!! got it????

yes sir... it all makes sense now.. i always do things in reverse that's why. that never crossed my mind until i actually thought about it. well, i hope this post helps out lots of folks because that is the only way this mount works.

An aftermarket company who makes these conversion kits actually told you to lock some vise grips on the bolt and yank it out?

 

yeah... the told me to unscrew it that way. i was kind of disappointed.
