I just bought a 98 LX 5 spd last week. Im still trying to figure out this whole manual thing, im getting better but I stalled out at a stop sign for the first time the other day. Since that stall out the "Maintenance Required" light has been coming on when I first start the car up. Any thoughts as to why it would happen after a stall like that?

 

That light is just a mileage counter. It's been 7500 miles (or whatever) from the last time it was reset. Here's how you reset it...

Key turned off. Press & hold the odometer reset button.
Continue holding the reset button as you turn on the key.
Continue holding it for 30 seconds or whatever. Light blinks a few times & goes out.
