Default High Flow Catalytic Converter (Car sound)

Is the performance worth the $200 investment? Is the car will be a lot louder than the stock cat? I currently have Apexi N1 cat-back

Thanks,
CS

But, it would be alot better is you added a nice header to the mix!

Cat alone= a couple of HP maybe? Sound no biggy but, it does have a little more burble.

Cat and good header= potentially 10 or + HP depending on what you choose and the tuning you invest in.

As for me, I'm dynoing tomorrow, I'll post results for my intake, header/cat combo tomorrow evening. Good luck to me...

thanks 1GreyTeg, I am still running the stock header now. If I get the carsound car now, do I have to get another cat in the future if I change the header later on?

You can run a 2-1/4" with the stock set up. If you go with a JDM type or 2-1/2" collector header then you will need to upgrade but any USDM header that is strictly a bolt on item you'll still be able to use the 2-1/4" cat.

Depends if you are going to get a header with a 2.25" collector,"most mass produced USDM with exception," Or is you are going to go with a 2.5" collector, "most JDM and a few high quality USDM headers."

If you are doing mild stuff to your car then the 2.25 is OK but, if you plan on doing N/A worked stuff and /OR want the most out of you header and cat combo then the 2.5" is the way to go.

I am currently running a Spoon 4-2-1 and a Carsound 94006, I must say that the header seems to be quite a good mod for the R and when mated to the cat it's even better.

My vote for you is the same cat as I have, even if you don't have the header yet. Ask Mike "TypeRmsm" for fitment issues and correct parts #, He sells them.

Then after the Cat, you can investigate and take you rtime to save for the right header for you.

Good luck,

A.

If you are going to spend money getting a high flow cat, then you shouldn't get anything smaller than 2.5". If you are going to get a 2.5" Carsound now, then you might as well upgrade the header too...

Oh yeah, Talk to SMSP about cats and headers.

He has cats for your needs and he manufactures one of the GOOD USDM headers with the 2 1/2 collectors of which I spoke.
