Default my Turbo ITR has lost all his oil

* 1st Video online now

VIDEO http://www.voehr.com/upload/store/ITRvsGT3.mpg

hi guys!

after 38000km, 25 hours on the race track and uncounted 1/4 mile starts I have the first bad defekt on my 400whp beast.

I feelt like Takuma Sato in the 2004ish Monte Carlo F1 gp when on the back of his car a huge amount of white smoke came out of the car. Too bad I have no rear camera, cause with my new HONDA sticker in the rear wing it would have become an awesome video. hehe ..........well, but it was filmed from the pits, I hope to get the film material very soon!

In the second turn of Brno Race way in Czech republik at 230kmh once of a sudden the red oil pressure signal burned my eyes!!!!! Within 2/10 of a second I shutted off the engine....that should help me from damaged bearings, etc. I HOPE SO! All of the good 10w60 engine oil (5 litres) flushed on the hot exhaust and became a white nice steam! All the people told me it looked very spectacular!

Well, that happend to my car: The hollow-bolt that came with the Graddy Sandwitchadapter which is screwed into the water/oil heat exchanger was the problem. 3 years ago we screwed this bolt directly into the block, cause I got rid of this heat exchanger. We did not know that the Greddy bolt has a few threads less than the oem Honda bolt. There is a little alu material coming out of the block where the threads are in for the hollow-bolt. This engineblock alu material BROKE off!!!! If there were only 2 or 3 threads more on the hollow bolt NOTHING had happend I guess.

My friend will produce me an longer hollow bolt now. After the install is finished I will fill up the engine with oil and reactivate that bitch. I hope not to hear any abnormal noises...... ...but I have good feelings since I was able to shut off the engine immediatly!

Besides all of that I was able to kill some Porsches, Ferraris, new M3, etc.......

Very sorry to hear what happened and that it happened in Brno - my town . Were you going 230kph at the end of the finish line? In my stock R, I usually go 190kph to turn 1, about 180 in turn 3, then about 170-180 in turn 5 and 180 in turn 10. Then it's uphill, so #13 is only about 150:

Pity that I didn't know that you are racing here, I would come to see your R. What are your lap times? My best is 2:47 on road tires.

Hope there is no internal damage and everything will be OK

PS: for those who don't know this track, here are some pics and here is some video from the track.

your R is a beast!

Are you running slicks? What is your top speed on that track? I assume >240?

I usual< do not look much to the speedo, but 240kmh is about what it has to be, since I shift in 5th and stay a few seconds in it. (I have a longer geared GSR tranny too)

I run Dunlop 200/580/15 Slicks in Volk te37 7x15inch which fits over my AP 4 piston caliper kit

Is that the Greddy sandwich adapter on the pic? It looks nearly identical to my Mocal unit (with a thermostat).

Yeah, sounds like that's my new sig too! Sweet!

Damnit, I have that GReddy sandwich adapter too. At least I have the stock heat exchanger. I need a bigger oil cooler though, my oil temps still SUCK (310+, hard to say, off the end of the scale on the temp gauge)

If you have a big enough oil slick, you can take out Vipers too.

Maybe make up a couple more of those hollow fittings (the bolt/tube you spoke of) is there's much interest from the rest of us.

Please let us know how it turns out.

WOW! A big brake kit that works with 15's. Bet that's worth a pretty penny......

I bet it's one of these : http://www.apracing.com/car/brakekit/index.htm

The Integra kit uses a 295x28mm rotor and a 4 piston caliper, and yes it is claimed to be fitting under 7x15" wheels. Available either with a bolted or a floating disc.

Not cheap, but very nice.

Pretty similar to what happened to me. Was merging into the freeway; redlined 3rd gear and my freakin oil filter popped off. I thought it blew for sure. I have a greddy/trust oil cooler on my car, it might have been my fault for not tightening it enough but I'm a little weary about that sandwich adapter.

I just checked the shaft-play on the Turbo today. There is no play
I get my new hollow bolt this week

It seems this hollow bolt has gotten loose and when it only held 4 threads into the block, the aluminium of the block broke off. Well, I get an new 9mm longer hollow bolt any way.
