Default runs fine but kills when i turn on my brights?

I just swaped my b16 into my 93 si today but it didn't have to power to turn over on its own, we charged the battery, which should be good, but ended up having to jump it, it turned on and ran fine, but every time i would hit the breaks the lights would dim and when i turned on my brights it killed the car

the only thing i could think is that i had to put the tranny ground to the fender well with a screw, does it need to be mounted somewhere different or better or whats the problem, bad alt?

if the battery light does not come on when the car is running then the alternator is good.

Make sure you have the positive wire hooked up to the alternator and also to the under hood fuse box, also if you don't have the round plugged into the alternator it will not charge and check for blown fuses under the dash and under the hood.
