I have a complete b16a and a complete b18b engines and was thinking about doing the ls/v. Everyone seems to say use a gsr or itr oil pump. What do you guys recomend.

 

any Vtec oil pump and any 98 and up LS or B20 oil pump will be your best choice. I recommened buying a new one from the dealer....dont need to take any chances on an old one if you dont need to....its worth the 115.00 investment in the long run.....

Think of it this way.....the oil pump is like the heart of the engine comparied to your heart in your body...it pumps the oil like your heart pumps the blood......

Would you want a heart tranplant from a 60 year old person or a 20 year old person?

 

that makes sense. I just didnt want to spend any more than I have too. I have 2 complete motors. oil pumps last for a pretty long time. Ive just ask b/c I see alot of people saying to use a itr or gsr. Figured there was something wrong with the b16a

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong..

But I believe the ITR/GSR oil pumps put out more pressure than a B16 oil pump.

 

ITR and GSR oil pumps are the same as far as i know, and i believe they do put out more pressure than b16 oil pumps.

 

just get a new itr 1.
