my ac is blowing hot air. i just refilled it with r-134 refrigerent and it's still hot. it's filled to 45 psi. well then i figured it was the temp control on my dash . i rip apart my dash and look behind it. it moves but it doesn't make sense b/c no matter how you turn the temp control button it seems to make no difference in it's mechanism. it's like its just sitting loose and moves left to right when i turn the ****. is the line supposed to be like this. i'm an AC noob.
first off i am assuming 45 psi on the low side ... that is too high .....
as for the heater ****, pull it out see if it is broken if ok you could have damaged cable or heater control **** assembly .. try this..........from engine compatment go to heater cable and manually and slowly pull cable all the way toward frt of car this will close heater valve ..let me know if it is any better .........but i still think yiou got a bit too much freon in your system 45psi is too high............or could have a bad exp valve

i filled it to 45 cause the gauge read that it is the max that should be in the system safely. any higher than that is the red zone. but i'll try what you told me to do

by the heater valve do you mean the high pressure side? as in the skinny grey cable with the h **** on it.

at the firewall look down next to the charcoal canister on the right of it there is a valve, 2 hoses and a cable attached to it, that is the cable i am talking about make sure that the arm is all the way toward frt of car thus valve is shut
i have had a similar problem with this heater valve sticking open and allowing hot air to enter by the lower vents(feet)...
i've had to manually move it forward and the 1/4 to 1/2 inch movement makes a difference...
only proboem now is that the valve leaks...

you must have had a bad valve to start with.. i have adjusted dozen upon dozen and never had a leaking problem ..........but if yours leaks replace it

it is on the left side of the fire wall when looking from the front correct. i see the canister you are talking about but i cant find the valve.
open the hood stand on the passanger side of the car in front of the wheel look to the left and you will see a cable comming from the firewall to a heater hose. and the valve is square and black and has the cable attached to it. Here is a pix for the 5th gen cars
