so i saw the news last night and i got pissed cause i own one. The alarm i have in it is just a basic cut-off switch. I want to install an alarm system that will completely protect this car. I was leaning towards the Viper GPS system but thats way out of my price range. If anyone has any suggestions of an extremely good alarm please let me know. thnx.

If the thieves' want your car, no alarm system can save it.
save ur money, and just be careful in the parking lot. Park closer to the store/where a lot of ppl are.
Keep the car in the garage.
If you have to get an alarm, you need gps!

get any alarm you dont need gps. the only thing alarm does is delay the stealing by 10-20 seconds. and to scare people who wanna steal your deck. and maybe the nosy neighbors will notice and call the cops

You can get a basic DEI alarm for under $100, it's all about the install, and how many layers you add to the system, you already have one, the cut-off switch, add the alarm, add a back-up batt. siren, lock your hood down, [as cheap as a good lock and a little bit of change.
I have an Alpine alarm, [top of the line] but it does what any properly installed alarm will do, it triggers if someone opens a door or hatch, breaks a window, tries to open hood, [locked] moves the car, there have been more then a few attempts at it, I have only lost an ashtray, [full of change, $5 maybe], no damage, I don't leave my doors locked in high risk areas, [no broken winbows, like a locked door would stop anybody anyway] most of the time all I come back to is an open door and a rifled glove box.
So don't let anybody tell you alarms are useless, they do what they are supposed to, slow the ***** down to the point where the risk gets to high.
