Car wont start. Help !!!!!!!
My car shut off while i was running on the freeway 70mph so i parked on the shoulder and tried to start it but it wont start thru theres a crank and gas.. so i took it to my mechanic but then they cant find the problems too its been sitting there for three days. they check the dizzy, ignition coil, fuel pump, distributor coil, and they said theres spark, they even fixed the three grounded burnt wires underneath the the steering wheel that they thought the problem was, but it wasnt.. timing belt is one yr old. i really cant think of anything wuts wrong wit my car now.. please help.. anymore sysptoms could it be ? thanks in advance..

Hmm, so it cranks, there's gas, and there's spark. Are you throwing any codes? Did you check the grounds in the engine bay? I had that problem after doing a friend's swap.

grounds im not sure yet.. i have the grounding kit tho and followed the instruction how to install it and where is suppose to be i had it on my car for over a year now.. no codes.. and plus i dont have any swap its stock ls wit basic mods..
BTW thanks for the reply i was waiting for ur reply or kendall.. hehehe

i would double check this to see if any of the wires came loose

If it has spark, then the timing belt is still intact....purportedly. It doesn't exclude the possibility of the cam-crank phasing being out of alignment or the possibility of a lot of bent valves.
I'd start at the fuel pump and engine harness and work your way back to the ignition switch to make sure that the fuel pump, main relay, ECU, and engine harness to make sure everything is getting 12VDC+.

okay i went to the shop today and check the spark myself and there was no spark at all.. dizzy is fine timing belt is fine (intact) and we checked the ECU with the testing thingy from the shop, and we did the old school way to check the ECU we did it with the piece a small piece of wire and stick it in and all i saw was solid check engine light no blink.. and my mechanic showed me some burned wires that they pulled out underneath the steering wheel and i wonder if the wire that was burnt is connected to the ECU its black with yellow stripe on them, the wires are really burnt im thinkin if that wire burnt connected to the ECU then im assuming the ECU is burnt too thats why its not responding if not maybe the main relay.. anyone knows wuts the sysptoms of having bad main relay ?

With a bad main relay you fuel pump won't turn on. So if it's turning on it's proubly not you main relay. With a solid CEL I would think it would have to be a ecu problem. If you know any one else with a teg I would try your ecu in their car and see if it will start. If you need a new ecu I have one for sale. PM if interested

I would like to try other ECU's but the thing is i wanna make sure first where the burnt wires connected too, i told my mechanic to find it whether its connected to the ECU or not.. if it is connected to the ECU im pretty those wires burnt the ECU too and if i swap someone ECU it will burn up too.. so for now im makin sure first if wut circuit was burnt wires coming from and goin to.. and once i find out if those wires not connected to the ECU then im for sure i would try anothers ECU.. thanks for the help tho.. keep that ECU u have i might need em..
one more quick question my car is 96 RS OBDII can i use LS's OBDII ECU ? or wut any other ECU i can use for my 96 RS. ?
Thanks for the helps guys.. appreciate it !
hoping more help to come pls..

hmmm...no spark? did you check for spark at the plugs? if there is none, then is there any spark at the wires? is there any at the cap? how can you tell if the dizzy is fine? did you check for fuel also? There are thousand of wires in the car, and some of them are identical. But to answer your question, a bad main relay can cause the fuel pump not to turn on, and no power to ECU. If you turn the ignition to ON position, you should hear a click after couple second, and the fuel pump should prime.

There is NO spark as per my mechanic, i just talked to them today again and they said my ECU and main relay are fine too and they said that the burnt wires was the cause why the car stalled..
They found out that the dizzy was fine when they took it off and sent it to the shop who specialized, rebuilt, test dizzy. so pretty much we are lookin forward at the shortened circuits which cause the car stalling... this is the 7th day i dont have my car now.. im hoping to get it fixed anytime next week. im guessing the reason why the wires burnt coz of my alarm wiring installation or maybe the radio..

Yes you would wreck their ecu THats why I said TO try your ecu in a different integra. If it wont start with your ecu then you know if it's bad, easiest way to check ,if you can get another integra.

I had someone checked the ECU already and its functioning just fine..

I kinda had the same prob except the burnt wires. heres my story
car is 01GSR) I noticed a miss one day, next day car stalled when coming home.,was gona bring it to work and check it out. but the next morning, car would not start. I had spark, had fuel, good fuel pressure. I replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, fuel pump.checked spark again..still car wouldnt start. finally after letting it sit for a day. next morning, it started on first try.shut it off then tried again.started.tried 3 more times and car started everytime. went to test drive it and it dies. got tired of throwing in parts so i got it towed to a shop, found low compression in one cyl due to the fuel being dumped while trying to start..after further diagnosis they said it was intermittent loss of spark. so they replaced my COIL and now car running fine. its been about 1 yr since coil was replaced...thas jus what happened to me..try replacing the distributor coil before replacing ECU..its cheaper..

Check your ignitor I know is a part known to fail. And will cause no spark. The coil is also a good place to start checking. If you have a repair manual it tells how to check both parts.
all the parts mentioned above are fine: ECU, Dizzy, Dizzy coil, Ignitor, Ignition coil, Fuel pump, Fuel filter, Fuel injectors, Timing belt, etc...pretty much all the main cause of stalling the car are working just fine.. its just those burnt wires right now is the main problem..
